Based on the video presented earlier, have a REFLECTION OF YOUR SELF AND YOUR INSTRUCTIONAL
LEADER. The purpose of these meetings is to enhance the benefit of peer teaching reviews for the
teacher being observed and for the observer by promoting discussion about teaching practices and goals

Requirement #1 What do you think is the best approach in the supervision and evaluation of
instruction? Why? Justify your answer by explaining its characteristics. Post your answers to these
questions by clicking below "add a new discussion topic" button. After posting your answer, Here's the
next instruction ---

Cogan 1873 espouses clinical supervision, which is an intensive approach consisting of several processes
including pre and post observation conferences.

Pre-observation conference. The major goal of a pre-observation conference is for evaluator to meet the
teacher being evaluated in which he/she can share essential contextual information before the class
observation. This reduces the likelihood of misconceptions while also increasing the likelihood that the
review will be beneficial to both parties. The teacher offers the most material and conducts the most of
the talking in these meetings, with opportunities for the observer to share his or her thoughts and ask
questions.

Effective meetings allow for back-and-forth dialogue, with the observer learning about the course, the
teacher, and the pedagogical context while asking questions. These pre observation also provide a
forum for discussing and sharing ideas regarding teaching in general.
Post-observation Conference. Post-observation conference, like pre-observation conference, work best
when the teacher offers information and conducts the majority of the talking, at least at first. This allows
the observer to gain a better understanding of how the teacher views the class that was presented,
what went well, and what obstacles may have arisen, among other things. This background is crucial in
allowing the observer to grasp the instructor's point of view as well as the teacher’s own perceptions of
the class's strengths and faults. Knowing the teachers’ perspective on what occurred in class is
important to the observer and will aid in the preparation of the report.

It can be beneficial for the observer to ask the teacher questions regarding what happened in class,
student participation, and learning, as well as the teacher’s personal comments on these topics. Hearing
the teacher’s perspective first establishes a firm foundation for a productive discussion about all parts of
the class and instructional methods. The teacher can also ask the observer questions or concerns about
the session, as well as solicit ideas for teaching the subject.

The observer should feel comfortable sharing his or her own thoughts on the class. The post-observation
conference can also be used to discuss student evaluations from the previous year. The material
gathered at a post-observation meeting can be quite useful in drafting the final report, as it now
includes information about the teacher’s own goals and efforts relating to the class, as well as the
teachers’ knowledge of and efforts toward increasing teaching effectiveness. It is frequently beneficial to
share the final report with the instructor before submitting it, in order to allow the rectification of any
problems.

Situational Awareness

aware of the nuances and undercurrents in the school's operations and uses this knowledge to address
existing and potential issues like: relationships among teachers and staff and how can affect the school
and issues in the school that have not surfaced but could create discord.

The greatest effects on student learning occur when the teachers become learners of their own teaching
and when students become their own teachers.
Teachers have the greatest power to impact the achievements of their students. One of the most
effective ways for teachers to empower their pupils is to reflect on their teaching practices by self-
monitoring and self-assessment to better improve their craft.
