Dracula house

Today I will talk about place Bran Castle or what to call another house of a vampire who is in Rumania .
According to legend, the famous voivode Vlad Tepes-
Dracula spent the night here during his campaigns, and the
area surrounding the Bran Castle was a favorite hunting
ground for the Tepes ruler. According to one version,
Turkish enemies tortured him in the dungeons of the
castle. And this is probably why Bran Castle is also called
Dracula's castle. During its more than six hundred years of
existence, Dracula's castle has changed many owners. At
various times, it was a refuge for the Hungarians, Saxons
and Teutonic knights. The history of the castle began
when, at the beginning of the 13th century, the inhabitants of the town of Bran built a well-fortified and
impregnable fortress on their own and at their own expense. The bastion was necessary to protect the
road connecting Transylvania and Wallachia. In addition, the citadel also served as a customs point. For
the construction of such a strategically important facility, the King of Romania thanked Bran with a tax
exemption for several centuries. In the first half of the 19th century, when the border between
Wallachia and Transylvania was moved higher into the mountains, Bran lost control of trade routes. At
the end of the century, the authorities, not wanting to spend money on the restoration of the castle,
handed it over to the local residents. the
fortress began to be called Dracula's Castle
about 40 years ago, when tourists from all
over the world began to look in Romania
for evidence of the existence of the
vampire Dracula, so realistically described
by Stoker in 1897. Demand creates supply,
and enterprising Romanians have given
the opportunity to those who wish to
satisfy their penchant for mysticism. The
appearance of the Prince of Darkness gave
impetus to the rapid development of
tourism in Romania. Vampire fans gather
in Transylvania for their world conventions every four years.

The prototype of the mythical bloodsucker was a very real person - Vlad
III Tepes, who was the ruler of Wallachia in the XIV century and became
famous for his cruelty. The Tepes inherited the nickname "Dracula" from
his father, who was a member of the Order of the Dragon, whose knights
defended the Christian faith in Europe. Vlad II issued coins with the
image of a dragon, for which he received his middle name "Dracul". The
adherents of this order wore black cloaks, and Vlad III dressed in the
same way, which added gloom to his image.
