Animal Farm

Chapter 9
-The rebuilding of the windmill has started. Boxer keeps working
very hard despite his age ( 11 years old ) and his injury.
-No animal has yet retired.
-Rations keep being reduced, but Squealer proves the animals
otherwise.
-Napoleon is now the father of 31 young pigs. A schoolroom for
these pigs will be built. ( His decision to build a schoolhouse for the
pigs is reminiscent of such fascist organizations as the Hitler Youth,
and his numerous decrees favoring the pigs (such as the one
requiring all animals to step out of their way when approached by
pigs) recalls Hitler's thoughts about Aryan superiority )

-From now on Pigs are allowed to wear ribbons.

-Pigs have started drinking beer. A pint for Napoleon himself.

-Despite hunger and hardship, pigs organise Spontaneous

Celebrations.
-Animal Farm is a Republic now. Napoleon is the President.
-Now pigs accept Moses and his Sugarcandy Mountain.
-Boxer has fallen!!!

-Boxer is taken to “hospital”

-Boxer was killed/died in the hospital at Willingdon. ( Boxer’s death

represents the exploitation of the working classes. )
-Pigs have bought another case of whisky.
