TWENTY-FOUR YEAR ARMY VETERAN AND NON-PROFIT FOUNDER

SHANE HUDELLA ANNOUNCES BID FOR STATE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

HASTINGS, Minn. – Shane Hudella announced today that he will run for the Minnesota House in the new
District 41B, which includes the city of Hastings, parts of Cottage Grove, as well as Nininger and Denmark
Townships. Hudella is a decorated Veteran of the Minnesota Army National Guard, having served 24 years
including a deployment to the Persian Gulf as part of Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm. He retired in
2012 at the rank of First Sergeant. Hudella is also the President & Founder of United Heroes League, a non-
profit that has helped more than 100,000 military families and has raised and donated more than $20 million in
benefits to help military kids participate in youth sports.

"My entire career has been focused on defending our freedoms and serving others. I'm excited to continue that
work on behalf of my friends and neighbors in the communities of Hastings and Cottage Grove," said Hudella.
"I will be a passionate and energetic champion for our Veterans and military families and work hard to get
results on the issues that families in our communities care about. I'll work to cut taxes for Hastings and Cottage
Grove with our $9 billion budget surplus, get rid of the social security tax on our seniors, improve  our schools
so that every kid gets a great education, and fight for our God-given Constitutional rights. This is a mission that
can’t be failed."

During its 13 year existence, Hudella has grown United Heroes League from a small regional nonprofit
organization into a national program supporting military families throughout the nation. Shane has been
featured on Fox News, NBC Nightly News, ESPN, and a host of other national media outlets. His organization
won the White House Joining Forces Community Challenge in 2012 as the best new military nonprofit in
America, and Hudella won an Upper Midwest Emmy Award in 2015 for his work with Hockey Day Minnesota.

Hudella is a lifelong Hastings resident and 1989 graduate of Hastings High School. He and his wife Jessica
reside in rural Hastings and have four sons.
