The following dialogue is for questions 9-11
Patty the Milkmaid was going to market carrying her milk in a pail on her head. As she
went along she began calculating what she would do with the money she would get for the milk.
“I’ll buy some fowls from Farmer Brown,” said she, “And they will lay eggs each morning,
which I will sell to the parson’s wife. With the money that I get from the sale of these eggs I’ll
buy myself a new dimity frock and a chip hat; and when I go to market, won’t all the young men
come up and speak to me! Polly Shaw will be that jealous; but I don’t care. I shall just look at her
ad toss my head like this.” As she spoke she tossed her head back the Pail fell off it and all the
milk was spilt. So she had to go home and tell her mother what had occurred.
“Ah, my child,” said the mother, “Do not count your chickens before they are hatched.”

Television
Television becomes parts of our life. Everyday we watch television. We usually watch
television after working, getting together with our family, even when we are working. As the
parts of our life, television has bad and good effects. People have different opinion about the
negative and positive impact of watching television.
Bad effects most people say TV makes us lack of movement. We stay for a long time in
front of our television. It’s not healthy life. They alo ay that TV influences our daily life.
Sometimes we don’t realize that we becomr more consuming after watching various ads. Some
TV shows influence the way children act. The rudeness nd violence coe to our house without
permission through television.
On the other hand, the people say that television has a good impact. We can get much
information from TV. When there is something happened ik another city, we know directly, fast
through the news on TV. TV also makes us relax. After working all day, we become home and
turn on TV to watch funny and comedy videos.
We can conclude that TV has good and bad effects to our life. Our task is how to
choose the good thing and try to take away the bad one.

Little wood is a small city, Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell rarely went out and just stayed at
home. Rumor says that they are witches. Another says that they are crazy scientists. Nobody
would like to stay near their house. One day, Laura got zero on her math exam. She was really
annoyed and threw her paper in front of the Maxwell’s house. On the next day, Mr. Maxwell
called Laura, gave her the math paper and a book. From that day in, Laura’s world started to
change. She loved math and be friend of the Maxwell.
Teka-teki Terakhir or the Last Riddle reminds me of my struggle to learn math. Based
on my experience, I got stuck on the math explained in my class. But, upon meeting with the
right person to discussed math deeply with big enthusiasm and be able to show the fun side of
it, everything can be changed. So, I’m not surprised knowing that Laura got great improvement
after meeting with prof. Maxwell. The novel also makes the readers can feel the professor’s
learning spirit.
As a teen lit, the mathematic theme on this novel is considered a advanced level for
the reader as the materials provided is not for younger level. The teenage story of the novel is
like the other novel might show, such as the big curiosity, the experience in meeting someone
new, and how to deal with the society when they think you are weird.
Teka-teki Terakhir is an interesting novel. What I like the most from this novel is the
way the author elaborated the story. I feel like reading a translated novel with unknown setting
of place but feel surreal. The setting of also gives me throwback memories when there is no
phone and private transportation.
Well, I recommend this novel for its thrilling and unusual adventure. Even if you
enjoy math or not, I’m sure you still enjoy the quest of Laura in her teenage life.
The Journey
By Lea Salonge
(chorus)
What a journey it has been
And the end is not in sight
But those stars are out tonight
And they’re bound to guide my way
(chorus)
Forward, always forward
Onward always up
Catching every drop of hope
In my empty cup
(chorus)
What a journey it has been
