Gender-responsive awareness is a process which helps to facilitate the exchange of ideas,
improve mutual understanding and develop competencies and skills necessary for societal change. It
aims at increasing general sensitivity, understanding and knowledge about gender equality.
Stated in DepEd Order (DO) No. 32, s, 2017, Gender-Responsive Basic Education Policy, that
the department commits to integrate the principles of gender equality, gender equity, gender
Rationale sensitivity, non-discrimination and human rights, in the provision and governance of basic
education.
As DepEd mandate to ensure access to quality basic education for all, teachers are equipped
with basic knowledge on gender-responsive awareness to impart it to learners, this orientation of
teachers on gender-responsive awareness cum team building will be conducted to all teachers of
Mabahin Elementay School.
Program or Course This is a two-day activity that will provide awareness and information to Teachers on gender-

The goal of the Orientation of Teachers on Gender-Responsive Awareness is to provide
reliable and accessible information to build a better understanding of gender equality as a core value
of a democratic societies. As a gender mainstreaming method, gender-responsive awareness is crucial
for integrating a gender perspective into policies, programs, projects and services that respond to the
different needs of women and men.

The program management team ensures that gender perspectives and needs are always considered in the design, implementation,
monitoring and evaluation of the training. Likewise, it seeks to ensure that participants (regardless of gender preference) have equitable
access to and benefit from society’s resources and opportunities. Its HGDG rating must be verified by SEPS-M&E Voltaire C. Asildo
using the prescribed tool to ensure compliance to GAD perspectives and mandates for gender mainstreaming, regardless of the activity
being included in the GAD Plan or not.
