HAUSLER SE V2 450 carbon fiber helicopter kit

• Thank you for purchasing this product. Please inspect the contents immediately and let us know
right away if parts are damaged or missing.

• If this is your first helicopter we strongly encourage you to get the help of an experienced modeler.

• You will need a six channel radio with CCPM mixing:

3 cyclic servos
1 rudder servo
1 Heading Hold gyro
35 amp ESC

• After servos are installed, we recommend the excellent “finless bob” videos on heli setup at helifreak.com.

• Recommended batteries are 3S lipos, 2200Mah to 2500Mah, at least 25C.

What’s in the box? Major and sub assemblies

Blades (2), velcro,

boom holder,
hardware.

Landing gear (2)

and skid pipes (2)

Tail group, horizontal

and vertical fins, tail
blades (2), and servo
Flybar paddles, (2) floor, servo mounts, hardware
tray, anti rotation support, and
boom supports (2)
SE V2 Frame/ Fuselage
1.___ Remove the motor mount and attach the motor, lightly tightening the screws. Replace
in the frame.

2.___The frame comes preassembled but has not been thread locked. Remove the MM
screws and tighten with thread lock.

3.___ Using MP screws, secure the floor of the same. Do not do the rear two, that comes
later when you secure the boom supports.

4. ___Using MP screws, secure the front battery tray.

5.___ Attach landing gear using 4 MP screws. Make sure the angle of the landing gear is
forward. Attach skid pipes and anti skid stoppers when finished.

6.___ Using MP screws, mount and tighten the canopy supports.

7.__Locate and insert 6 servo mounts in their fuselage slots.

The hole in each mount is orientated closest to the servo.
Make sure the mount is flush the surface.
SE V2 Head (pictures on next page)

1.__ Using two wrenches, remove the blade grips by loosening the spindle. (Be careful with the small
parts and note the order of the bearings and spacers). Grease the thrust bearings and the spindle.

2.___Threadlock to the spindle bolts and reassemble the blade grips. The grips should move freely.

3.___ Remove the two screws that support the flybar cage. Pass the flybar through the cage.

3a.___For 3D flight, you do not need the flybar weights. If you want to use them, slide them onto each
side of the flybar, but do not tighten.

4.___Screw a plastic flybar paddle on to each side of the flybar. The distance from the inside of each
paddle to the flybar cage must be equal. If using weights, move to the end of the flybar and tighten.

5.___Loosen but do not remove the main shaft collar.

6.___Locate the main and autorotation gear assembly. While holding the top gear, turn the lower gear so
the holes line up, allowing the bolt to pass through. Put the gear in the frame and gently work the main
shaft into the center of the main gear. Using a MM “Jesus bolt” pass the bolt through the gear and the
mainshaft and tighten into a nylon nut.

7.___Pull up on the mainshaft to seat the gear. Put threadlocker on the mainshaft collar (2 threaded
inserts) and push down. Tighten. There should be no vertical play in the mainshaft.

8.___Spin the mainshaft to ensure that it spins freely and that the autorotation gear meshes with the belt.

SE V2Anti Rotation Support

1.___ Using MP screws and washers, attach the anti rotation support to the frame. Move the swashplate to
proper alignment of the elevator control arm so that it passes through the anti rotation support.
SE V2 Tail Assembly (pictures on next page)

1.__The boom has a front and rear. The front has a notch that slides around a notch on the inside of the
boom block. You adjust belt tension by moving the boom back on the notch.

2.___The tail assembly has been threadlocked at the factory. Check the screws to ensure that none are
loose. If so, remove and replace with thread lock.

3.___Using a hooked wire, feed the belt through the boom. Hold up to light to ensure that it is not twisted.

3a__Slide tail rotor pushrod guides and servo mounts onto the boom, noting order and orientation.

4. ___Slide tail assembly on to the boom, but do not tighten.

5.___Pull belt over belt pulley in the frame and check direction of the tail rotors (make sure that tail rotors
are 90 degrees to frame). The main rotors turn CW, the tail CCW. If not, the belt is twisted.

6.___There should be slight looseness in the belt around the pulley, but not excessive.

7.___Tighten 4 MP boom block screws to secure boom.

8.__ Using MM screw, tighten tail assembly on the frame, ensuring that blades are 90 degrees to the plane
of the main blades .

9.___Using MM screw and washer, attach vertical fin to tail rotor assembly.
Tail rotor screws are only
threaded at their ends

10. ___Using MP screws and washers, attach horizontal fin/pushrod guide to the boom, do not tighten.

11.__ Attach ends to 2 boom supports using CA or epoxy. Make sure orientation at both ends is the same.

12.__ Using MP screws (no washers) attach one end of the boom supports to the frame, and using MP
screws and washers screw the other end to the horizontal fin. Tighten horizontal fin, ensuring that tail rotor
pushrod goes through the lower guide.

13.___Carefully thread a link on to each end of the tail rotor pushrod. Lightly pull on the ends to ensure
they are tight.

14.__ Gently push one end over the ball link on the tail rotor assembly. One side will fit over the ball easier
than the other, the side that fits easier is the correct orientation. The tail rotor linkage should move freely.

This completes the basic build of your 450 SE V2. Go ahead and start installing the servos.
Final assembly.

1.__Using the tail rotor screws, attach the rear blade. Not that facing the blades they travel CCW. Make
sure you do not get thread lock on the smooth part of the screw or the blades will bind. Do not over tighten.

2.__ If you are using Hitec 65mgs or something similar, they will mount directly to the frame with no
modifications. You will need to remove the arm of the elevator servo and replace it once the servo is
mounted and centered.

3. Mount your rudder servo. Our gyro was mounted on top of the boom case but there are plenty of
other places you can put yours.

without the canopy. Very stable with the flybar
weights – and no tracking adjustment necessary.

A good picture of the servo installation. Note that the

horn has been cut to prevent hitting the main gear. At
mid stick the servo arms must be parallel to the
frame, as is shown here. Servos are Hitec 65MGs.
