Objective:
This experiment introduces the basic operations of PSpice. It also focuses on analysis of
some experimental DC circuits. The idea is to create circuit schematics and netlists using
the software, and analyzing them to match the data with the theoretical outputs of any
given circuit. It is also recommended for the learners to explore the various features offered
by this simulation software. So in general the objective of this course is to:
1. Analyze circuits with voltage source, current source and resistance using PSpice
2.Create Netlist from given circuit diagrams
3.Create Schematics from circuit diagrams
4.Experiment with output data and graphical representation
5.Compare output results with theoretical results.

Procedures: All of the given problems are solved using two different steps:

Netlist:
1. “Pspice AD” was run, then went to File > New > Text File.
2. In the new window, the required codes for circuit construction was typed.
3. After saving each circuit with .cir extension, the .cir file was reopened and now it
showed active. Then went to Simulation > Run.
4. A black graph was shown on screen. Required traces were added from Trace> Add Trace
menu.
5. The output file was acquired by clicking “View simulation Output File”.

Schematics:
1. “Pspice design manager” was run, then went to “Run Schematics”.
2. A new window appeared. There the given circuit diagram was created as a circuit
Schematic.
3. First parts were acquired by pressing Ctrl + G. In the new window, the parts were
searched for using their name i.e. GND, R, VDC, IDC, and then placed in the schematic
using the “Place” Icon.
4. Then the parts in the schematics were rearranged, and connected together with the “Draw
wire” option.
5. The file had to be saved with .sch extension.
6. From Analysis > Setup analysis, the “Save Bias Point”, “DC Sweep” and “Bias Point
Detail” checkboxes were marked as checked, and from DC sweep, the necessary sweeping
options were set.
7. Then the circuit was simulated by clicking Analysis>Simulate.

Comparison:

Here, the output of netlist and schematic indicates that the result in both cases is same.
For example, the schematic output shows that the current flowing through R1 is 64.52mA
and the netlist output also shows the same kind of result.
So that we can say that the experiment has been done successfully.

Comparison:
Here, the output of netlist and schematic indicates that the result in both cases is same.
For example, the schematic output shows that the current flowing through R1 is 6.259 A
and the netlist output also shows the same kind of result.
So that we can say that the experiment has been done successfully.
Conclusion:
It is too much difficult to learn about the laws of DC circuits without the components, and
it is also dangerous without expert supervision in some cases. The solution 0f this problem
is circuit simulation and PSpice makes it easier.
Since we have the same results from theoretical data, netlist output, and schematics
analysis, the software has perfectly simulated the desired circuit designs.
Finally we can say that PSpice is a very useful software which makes the circuit simulation
more easier.
