Research Site and Participants

The study will only include barangays with in random residents who lived in Baybay City, leyte.
The selected participants will only comprise of the parents of the family who manage their waste
segregation.

The researchers used the simple random sampling technique in conducting the research. A
sample size that will represent the population of 50 random participants with in random barangays.
Moreover, in five barangays the researcher will used 10 participants in every barangay to gain 50
respondents in total.

Research Design

The descriptive method of research involves the description, recording, analysis, and interpretation of
present nature. It defines the nature of one certain phenomenon depending on the levels of description.
To address the problems of the study and to achieve its purpose, a descriptive comparative research
design was applied. This design is highly suitable in the study because the intention is to describe the
level of solid waste management practices and to evaluate the comparison of perceptions among
residents, the population of the study was composed of random residents who lived in Baybay. Quota
sampling technique was utilized.

Research Instruments

I the researcher will use an online survey questionnaire. The purpose of this study is to

gather data that are needed to determine the perception of the residents who lived in Baybay

about Solid Waste Management, and its effect to environment. The survey questionnaires content

about awareness of recycling solid waste.

I the researcher will use a sample size comprising of 50 random residents, because for us it is

enough. I will pick 50 residents who lived in Baybay as representative to answer the online

survey questionnaires. The researcher will use Simple Random Sampling to select a respondent

to avoid being bias.

Data Analysis

In order for the researchers to fully understand and evaluate the gathered information, I

have computed the weighted mean we will be used to analyze the data will be used to determine

the perception of students about awareness of solid waste.

To obtain the sample size per residents, divide the total number of residents per barangay by the total

number of sample population then multiply it to 5. Further, to select the members of each sample,

systematic sampling was used. Systematic sampling is a technique for creating a random probability

sample in which each piece of data is chosen at a fixed interval for inclusion in the sample, this will be

employed on this study until the desired number of elements in the sample is obtained. To gather

primary data, online questionnaire surveys were distributed among target respondents who belong to

the chosen random barangay residents. The researchers will explain the research instrument to the

respondents.
