Introduction

Pipeline systems for oil and gas industry play important role in modern industrial
operations. The purpose of this course is to present basic characteristics of
efficient operation of oil and gas pipelines in various oil industry applications.

This course will cover the interaction of pipelines with flow moving equipment
operation, monitoring and maintenance ,

The students will be introduced to main points of inspection and testing according
to relevant API standards.

They will also develop familiarity with methods of

flushing ,cleaning ,pigging ,inspection and other maintenance activities, including
necessary repairs as prevention of failures.

This programme will include several workshops with real problems from industrial
practice which will enable discussions and exchange of experiences.

Aim
This an overview to oil and gas pipelines operation ,monitoring and maintenance
course . It has been designed to provides students with the necessary knowledge
to demonstrate the principles operation and maintenance in a mechanical and
technological environment .Also to provide the the students with a full and
comprehensive picture of operations, monitoring and maintenance as well as
understand how to detect the location of leaks and weak points along the
pipelines .so the course will covers all topics around the wide range of pipeline
operation ,monitoring and maintenance
Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students are expected to be able to:

1 Discuss an Overview o f Technical Characteristics of Pipelines
