RESEARCH INSTUMENTATION

Application: Based on the research problem you have formulated, explain the following:

1. Research instruments to be used in your study and why?

In our study, we are going to use a likert scale survey. We would like to use
this type of research instrument because our study’s aim is to assess the opinion
of our target respondents. Likert scales are popular in survey research because
they allow you to easily operationalize personality traits or perceptions.

2. Advantages and disadvantages of the type of instrument used in your study.

A Likert scale is an orderly scale from which respondents choose the option
that best supports their opinion. It can be used to measure someone’s attitude by
measuring the extent to which they agree or disagree with a particular question
or statement.
The main advantage of Likert Scale questions is that they use a universal
method of collecting data, which means it is easy to understand them. Working
with quantitative data, it is easy to draw conclusions, reports, results and graphs
from the responses. Furthermore, because Likert Scale questions use a scale,
people are not forced to express an either-or opinion, rather allowing them to be
neutral should they so choose. Once all responses have been received, it is very
easy to analyse them.

3. Evaluate your instruments based on the criteria mentioned.

The likert scale survey passed the criteria for evaluating the instrument.
Validity and reliability are two important factors to consider when developing and
testing questionnaires and likert scales. These considerations help to ensure the
quality of your measurement and data collected for our study. And efficiency,
speed, and simplicity can assist in measuring items within the research time frame,
as well as ensuring quick, complete, and accurate results within the time frame
that allows data to be obtained, and our instrument will be simple and clear to
avoid risk errors.
