The minion massacre

2542 - The first casualty in the minion massacre, Havark Bladetooth, is

found dead with copious amounts of stab wounds in his back, after replacing a
hobgoblin as taskmaster of a mining complex west of Zharr Naggrund. Kinsmen of the
Kurgan retaliate by rounding up a score of hobgoblins and crushing their skulls on
a nearby anvil, singing praise to Hashut as they do so. Havark is succeeded by his
brother Gunnar.

Angered by the act of violence, a hobgoblin by the name of Izgam incites the slaves
of the complex to rise up against their master. Gunnar is killed by a particularly
crazed orc. Izgam waits for the slaves to run out of steam, then organizes the
facilities' guards and orders the execution of the slaves. For his heroic conduct,
Izgam is praised by the dawi zharr.

2543 - All across the dark lands, wherever humans and hobgoblins work
together, the humans are soon found dead after suffering from unlikely accidents.
This practice lasts until the shaman Vars Hagarson survives such an accident and
finds proof that the event was engineered by his hobgoblin colleague. Vars
interrogates the hobgoblin before ending the greenskin's life in a particularly
unpleasant fashion. He finds out that Izgam is inspiring the hobgoblins to
eliminate their human counterparts.

2544 - Vars travels to Zharr Naggrund and kills Izgam by tossing him into a
furnace. Claiming it was Hashut that showed him Izgab's treachery in a vision, he
goes on to uncover Izgab's network of assassins, rallying a number of Kurgan
warriors to systematically murder every hobgoblin Izgab ever had contact with.

2545 - Pleased by the methodical approach of the cultists, the chaos dwarves
do not object to the killings. Many hobgoblins realize that they are no longer
under the protection of the dawi zharr, and so they flee east, leaving the humans
to fill their now vacant positions. A handful of hobgoblins remain, but they are
mostly reassigned to less important roles while the cultists are installed as
taskmasters of the somewhat more profitable facilities.
