PESTLE ANALYSIS – CASE STUDY PROBLEM

Annen Tutch is the proprietor of Ka Rizal Hane, a restaurant that has been open since 2018
and is located in Morong, Rizal. They are well-known in the province of Rizal for their best-
selling Exotic Food, including Kambing Papaitan, Kalderetang Pato, Crispy Ginataang Hito,
Kalabaw Pares, and Beef Bulalo. They also serve a variety of dishes that all Filipinos would
undoubtedly like. They have branches in Taytay, Rizal, and Cainta, Rizal, and as a result of
their growth, they now have more than 50 workers, the majority of whom live in Rizal
Province. In 2021, they intended to open outlets in Makati, Taguig, and Pasig.
March 2020, the covid-19 pandemic arises. According to WHO, Coronavirus disease
(COVID 19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 Virus. The majority of
patients infected with COVID-19 will have mild to moderate symptoms and will recover
without any additional therapy. Some, on the other hand, will become critically unwell and
require medical assistance. COVID-19 spreads primarily from person to person, droplets
released when someone sick sneezes or coughs can land on the mouths or noses of
people nearby and close contact with someone sick like hugging or shaking hands. These
Virus are spreading all over the world.
The government chose to impose a lockdown in Rizal and other areas, as well as
regulations and standards that companies and consumers must follow during this
epidemic. These policies and recommendations are as follows:
 Curfew hours – 6:00 pm to 5:00 AM except for APOR or frontliners
 Only one person per family is allowed to go out but only limited to accessing
essential goods/services. One Home Quarantine Pass per family
 Restaurants are allowed to accommodate up to 30% of their indoor seating capacity
for all customers who wants to dine-in or it is more advisable to take-out and
delivery only, starting 5:00 am to 7:00 pm
 Mass Gatherings are not allowed
 No public transportation but not to limited transporting services for essential goods
& services.
 School Premises, Tourist Spot and any establishment are not allowed to open
except for selling essential foods.

Because of the rules issued by the government, Annen Tutch restaurant would be
impacted; the majority of her customers are visitors/travelers from outside Rizal, and her
workers are not working as well, but she continues to pay them to help them to survive in
this time of pandemic. Her revenues are declining, expenditures are increasing, and her
company is on the verge of closing.

Questions:
1. If Annen Tutch wants to use the PESTLE Analysis to prevent having to close her
business, what method or strategies will you recommend to her to increase her
income and decrease her expenses on this time of pandemic?
