ETHICAL CHALLENGES ACTIVITIES RESPONSIVE TO SAID

ETHICAL CHALLENGES
Developing safe quality products To ensure the manufacture and
distribution of safe and high-quality food in
the most cost-efficient manner, the
Jollibee Commissary System was
established.

The System with three sites in Santolan,

Pasig City and Mandaue City, Cebu and
central site in Laguna, operates 24/7 to
manage Jollibee’s total supply chain
process. Further, a professionally staffed
Technical Services supports the
maintenance of an internationally
accepted quality management system that
ensures the quality and safety of the
commissary manufactured food products.
Additionally, a high caliber teams from
Engineering, Human Resources,
Information Management, Finance and
Accounting likewise provide support to the
Manufacturing and Logistics.

Proof of Jollibee’s adherence to high

quality standards is the various awards it
garnered for the commissaries: in 1997,
the commissary in Pasig earned the
Outstanding Industrial Plant in the
National Capital Region from the Laguna
Lake Development Authority and the Most
Improved Industry awarded by the Sagip
Pasig Movement while Commissary Plant
Engineer Romy P. Fernandez was
awarded as one of the Top Ten Most
Outstanding Pollution Control Officers of
the Philippines.

In 1998 also, the frozen patty line in the

Pasig commissary was awarded an ISO
9002 certification by the SGS (Societe’
Generale Surveillance) Yarsely, an
international certification body. 2004 is a
banner year for Vismin Foods Corporation
(VFC) who has been assessed and
certified by the National Meat Inspection
Commission of the Department of
Agriculture, to have fully met the
requirements and standards of Good
Manufacturing Practice, reinforcing the
commissary’s “AAA” accreditation granted
by the same agency.
Maintaining a clean environment This COVID-19 pandemic brought Jollibee
a culture of “Joyful and safe dining”

Jollibee has intensified the sanitation of its

wares by adding extra cleaning steps in its
dishwashing procedure. High-touch point
surfaces in stores, including doors,
handles and knobs are disinfected every
30 minutes. Solid surfaces as well as other
areas with possible customer contact are
cleaned every hour to provide a joyful and
safe dining experience to every customer.
Providing a safe workplace In this current pandemic situation, Jollibee
provides its team with “Safe To and From
the Store Guidelines”. This includes
transportation arrangements, strict use
and proper handling of mask and filing out
a Daily Health watch and store team
tracker for contact tracing among
employees. Also, regular hand sanitation
is a must for all employees.
Jollibee also ensures that all its branches
are compliant with the Department of
Trade and Industry (DTI) and Inter-Agency
Task Force on Emerging Infectious
Diseases (IATF) requirements on indoor
air quality and ventilation. The standard
ventilation design for all stores follows
internationally recognized standards of
ASHRAE 62.1 which pertains to
Ventilation for Indoor Air Quality. In
adherence to these standards, Jollibee’s
current ventilation system design provides
sufficient air changes per hour. Air quality
is also enhanced through the installation of
particulate filtration and air purifiers where
required.

Honoring community’s commitments One of Jollibee’s advocacy programs is

the Jollibee Family Values Awards (JFVA).
As a family-centric brand that promotes
family values and togetherness, Jollibee
established this award which aims to
recognize deserving families who best
exemplify positive Filipino family values.

(JGF) was also established which is the
