To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Frances Camacho. I am an Assistant Guide at Guidepost Montessori Old

Town in the Nido room. I had the pleasure of working with Esmeralda Martinez in our previous
place of employment, Child First Academy, in the toddler room. It is my honor to recommend
Esmeralda for the position of Lead Teacher.
I worked with Esmeralda in the toddler room of Child First Academy from December
2020 to August 2021. It was my first experience in a classroom setting and I had not studied
Early Childhood Education during university. I was quite nervous and unsure of my abilities but,
from the beginning, Esmeralda was encouraging of me. I had no idea that it was also her first
experience in a classroom. She seemed greatly confident and sure of herself. She was excited for
the chance to apply what she learned at school in a real-world setting.
When our classroom was opened in December 2020 and we received our first students,
Esmeralda utilized her studies to tailer the environment to the needs of the children. Based on the
interaction and feedback of the children, Esmeralda would adjust and change areas of the
classroom to maximize the comfort and focus of the students. She would do her best to ensure
that she had even a few minutes of one-on-one time with the children to create a strong and
trusting bond with them. Esmeralda was firm with the expectations she held for the class without
being harsh or overbearing. She knew how to redirect behaviors that were unsatisfactory and
speak to the children in a way so that they would understand why such behavior was
unacceptable. I learned her techniques for interacting with the children and I still use them to this
day.
As a coworker, I felt that Esmeralda was a great and important part of our team. We
would often talk about the class and discuss together ways to improve the environment and the
activities that were presented to the children. Although she was my lead and I her assistant, I
always felt like an equal and that the opinions and feelings were valid. My ideas were always
heard and considered, and I consider this to be the reason that my confidence and a caretaker and
educator grew. Esmeralda would make a great addition to any team.
If more information is needed on Esmeralda’s abilities, I can best be reached at my email
francesec06@gmail.com. I would be more than happy to further discuss my classroom
experience with Esmeralda.

Sincerely,
Frances Camacho
