 PROJECT ABSTRACT:

A test case is a specification of the inputs, execution conditions, testing

procedure, and expected results that define a single test to be executed to achieve a
particular software testing objective, such as to exercise a particular program path or
to verify compliance with a specific requirement.[1] Test cases underlie testing that is
methodical rather than haphazard. A battery of test cases can be built to produce the
desired coverage of the software being tested. Formally defined test cases allow the
same tests to be run repeatedly against successive versions of the software, allowing
for effective and consistent regression testing.
 MAIN CONTENT:

Test Plan :-

 Check if the data is saved after writing to the file.

 Check the functionality for the save as a file.
 Check if the notepad allows the same file name in the same file path.
 Check if the edits to the file are saved.
 Check the functionality of the close, maximize, and minimize buttons.
 Check if the window for notepad can be re-sized.
 Check the default size of the notepad is based on the last saved window size.
 Check if the clearing system cache has any difference in the size of the notepad window after
you open any file.

These were some of the common test cases, but if you want to go application-
specific test cases, then you have to check each item on the menu.

 Conclusion:
Testing is a critically important verification method that takes up a very
large portion of a project’s resources, including schedule, budget, staffing, and
facilities. Unlike the many constructive activities of systems engineering, testing
is relatively unique because it is inherently destructive. Its primary purpose is to
force the system or its components to fail so that the defects that caused the
failure can be uncovered and then fixed. In addition to defect detection, testing is
also performed to provide sufficient objective evidence to justify confidence in
the system’s quality, fit.
