2.3 Connection with development plan or other strategic plan of developing country
ASCHIANA Afghan NGO has signed an agreement with the MoE for providing education
to the most vulnerable children and street children as well as to cover those areas of
education which are not covered by the MoE. This is primarily preparing children that have
dropped out of schools due to poverty and conflict and need an accelerated type of
education to be able to catch up with the knowledge expected from their age and be
subsequently enrolled in government schools. The ASCHIANA Parwan school provides the
mentioned type of accelerated education and is preparing girls students for enrolment to
government schools.

Besides ASCHIANA is also preparing the young generation for the labour market by
providing vocational training and skills education, which is also in conformity with the
expectations of MoE from the NGOs working in the area of education – to have the
education in line with the demands of the labour market and help young Afghans towards a
sustainable financial independence. The Parwan ASCHIANA school is providing classes in
tailoring and beautitionist for the girls.

2.4 Justification of need for project (a brief analysis of the problem which is intended to
be solved through the project)
The school is still in need of basic equipment that is necessary in any school. The students
are sitting and writing on the floor. The school and the quality of education would highly
benefit from benches and chairs for the students.
The school is also part of a project called Twin school project and is in friendship relation
with a school in Estonia. The Estonian partner school has helped the Parwan school with a
small financial aid to be able to purchase 3 sewing machines for the girls to replace the old
broken ones. However in the vocational training classes as well benches and chairs were
missing or were broken.
2.5 Objectives of project (general goal and direct and indirect objectives of the project)
