We regularly hold our own events as well as sending teams to area competitions that have
the opportunity to qualify for the national championships. In accordance with BRC rules, we
must provide volunteers to help at each event. Therefore, if you do wish to compete you
must state which competition you can provide helpers for. We will then contact you before
the event to clarify your role on the day.

NEW FOREST RIDING CLUB
The club has been in existence for over 25 years. It is affiliated to the British Horse Society, the governing body of
Riding Clubs in the UK. We have both senior and junior members within a radius of 30 miles of The New Forest. We
pride ourselves on being a friendly Club and any new members will receive a warm welcome at any of our events.

The club arranges numerous events every year including:

• Annual Show
• Regular Flatwork Training for riders of all ability
• Regular Show Jumping Training at heights to suit rider/horse
• Cross Country Schooling
• Dressage Competitions (from walk/trot to elementary/Medium)
• Annual Quiz Night
• Regular Hacking Group
• Competitive Long Distance Ride
• Pleasure Ride
• Topical Talks and Demonstrations

There are regular area competitions where you can represent your club:
• Dressage - Individual, Pairs, Team, Dressage to Music
• Show Jumping
• Horse Trials

Members also gain the following benefits:

• Monthly Newsletter
• Free advertising in newsletter for members
• Website to keep you up to date
• Facebook Group
• Members’ Point Competition with trophies presented at AGM
• Discounts for Riding Club Members
• Insurance for Riding Club events

Half of the annual subscription goes towards insurance cover which is very comprehensive. The riding Club
committee, officials, volunteers and instructors are insured for up to £20m for any one claim in respect of any
activities organised by the Club. Riding Club members are also covered for £20m whilst taking part in any organised
activity of any affiliated Riding Club. This cover extends from member to member. Please note that travel to and
from an activity is not included nor are you covered if you are riding at non Riding Club activities. The policy also
covers Employer’s liability and land and access for any organised activities. Although we always hope we won’t have
to claim, such cover is very valuable. If by any chance you might be involved in a claim, never admit liability, never
offer payment, collect witnesses’ names and addresses and advise the insurer through the Club as soon as possible.
So if you have a horse, or ride one regularly, we look forward to you joining us, whether you want to compete for
the Club or just meet new friends. Just complete the form overleaf and look forward to receiving your membership
card and first newsletter.
