APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP


I/We apply to be admitted as a member of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry. I declare that I have the authority to act on behalf of and to bind the applicant to the Charter and Rules of the Chamber in operation during the term of membership. Such binding includes the undertaking of the applicant to pay the annual subscription fee, as determined by the Chambers Council from time to time, before the end of January each year. I acknowledge that 1. 2. 3. The applicant will be liable for the payment of a non-refundable Enrolment Fee at the time of application. Subscriptions fall due immediately on successful application for membership. For an applicant admitted to membership after the end of January each year, the amount payable is a pro rata portion of the annual subscription fee calculated from the first day of the ensuing month. 4. Annual subscriptions fall due at the beginning of each year and are payable by 31 January, except in the case where a debit order has been signed. 5. Invoices for subscriptions for the ensuing year will be provided before the 15th November of each year. 6. A MEMBER WISHING TO RESIGN FROM THE CHAMBER MUST DO SO IN WRITING BEFORE 31 DECEMBER EACH YEAR, FAILING WHICH THE MEMBER WILL BE LIABLE FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE SUBSCRIPTION FOR THE ENSUING YEAR. th 7. Members will be reminded of the condition above no later than 15 November each year. 8. A MEMBER RESIGNING DURING THE COURSE OF A YEAR WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY REFUND OF SUBSCRIPTIONS PAID, NOR WILL BE ABSOLVED FROM THE PAYMENT OF THE ANNUAL FEE IN FULL. 9. Annual subscriptions may be paid by Debit Order, a facility for which the Chamber will charge an administration fee to cover the cost of this process. 10. Copies of the Charter and Rules have been provided and these have been read. (They may also be accessed at www.durbanchamber.co.za)
