LESSON D DESCRIBING ROOMS

1. ASK AND ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS WITH A PARTNER:

• What is your favorite room in your house? Why? • What furniture is there in your bedroom?

2. THREE PEOPLE DESCRIBE THEIR BEDROOM. MATCH EACH PERSON TO THE IMAGE
ACCORDING TO THEIR DESCRIPTIONS. THERE IS AN EXTRA PICTURE YOU DON’T
NEED TO USE.

A. Mia (16): My bedroom is kind of boring but I love

it. The white walls and the wooden floor maintain
the room illuminated and warm. There isn’t any TV,
I just don’t need it because I watch videos on my
computer. There is only a single bed but there are
many pillows. There is a dresser next to it. There
aren’t any pictures or photographs on the walls. I
think I am not a common teenager.

B. Lucas (20): My bedroom is my favorite place in

my house. It is the place where I spend most of my
time. There is a desk next to my bed. There are
some books too. There are also some pictures and
posters on the wall. There is a big and comfortable
chair. I like to sit down and read so I use it so much.

C. Dylan (19): My bedroom is not very big but I like

it. There are not many things in it but I think that’s
OK. There is only one window. There is a small
bedside table where there is a lamp. I like this
because I read I lot, especially at nights. There is a
desk and a big chair too. I always do my homework
here. Ah, and there is a big picture that covers the
wall next to my bed! I love it.
