Most universities encourage all students to take at least two history courses,

regardless of their major. The majority of students enroll in these history classes
because they are compelled to. This begs the question, why study history in the
first place? What role does history play in the lives of ordinary people? History is a
true account of events that have occurred in the past. Students can learn how to
improve and advance by understanding these truths and not repeating the same
mistakes. History can also assist pupils in developing a variety of skills that are
useful in other areas of life. It is crucial to a society's development. Individuals and
communities could and should study history because it helps them to gain from
prior experiences and progress positively as a result of them. Every culture learns
from its mistakes and makes improvements. Though it is sometimes advised not
to dwell on the past, history is a very different matter. History can be interpreted

progress of combat equipment and tactics is a great representation of this. The
weapons utilized in the Middle Ages is nothing like the gear employed now in the
nuclear age. Warfare was mostly fought by mercenaries and swordsmen during

battlefields as it was apparent that hand-to-hand combat would result in massive
losses. They produced gigantic crossbows, cannons, and battle ships, each one
more destructive than the one before it. Each war was used as a history lesson to
explain what changes and improvements needed to be done to be more
successful.

Learning about history allows us to gain a better understanding of the humanities

own reflection and what is good and what is terrible about it. This is similar to a
diary in that people, specifically historians, just documented what they saw and
what appeared to produce a huge shift in society, and we happen to be reading it
a few years later. Because it makes sense and has been scientifically
demonstrated, I think historians wrote historical truth. When people are informed
about what happened in the past, they tend to do better. Knowing the history of
something is how you may begin to advance in life and make changes to shape
your future into whatever you want it to be.
