Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a gadget student MUST:

 Be a bona fide student of University of Northern Philippines

 Preferably enrolled as 2nd and 3rd year students.
 Have a record of good academic performance. (no dropped course and no failing/INC
grades)
 Demonstrate financial need. Priority is given to applicants from low-income households,
generally those with a monthly income of Php 10,000.00 or below or only one parent is
working for a family of four. (demonstrate greatest financial need).
 Not be a recipient of any scholarship or financial assistance with a stipend not more than
Php 20,000.00 every semester.

Required Documents:

 Completed application form

 Certification of Grades
 Certificate of Indigency
 Endorsement letter from the dean

Application and Selection Procedure:

 Applicants shall submit their application online by sending the required documents to the
official email of UNP Student Council at unpstudentcouncil@gmail.com or submitting the
documents to the Office of the Student Council, 2nd Floor, UNP-Student Center on or before
February 15, 2022.
 Qualified applicants will be scheduled for a virtual/on-site ocular inspection and interview as
the last phase of the selection process.
 A list of qualified students shall be endorsed to the VPAA for recommendation to the
University President for approval.

Note: The applicant must provide all information as requested or applications will not be
considered for review.

Notification of Award of the Gadgets:

 Successful applicants will be contacted directly at the phone number indicated on their
application. Applicants who are not selected will not be contacted directly.
 Successful applicants will be posted in the official Facebook pages of UNP and Student
Council.
 Distribution of gadgets will be announced accordingly.

Obligation of Beneficiary

 Maintain a full load of courses and earn passing grade.

 Submit Certification of Grades at the end of each semester.

 Submit a narrative report to the UNP Student Council at the end of each semester describing
your experiences during the semester regarding the use of the gadget.
 Students will take full responsibility in taking care of the laptop (A guide to how to take care
of the laptop will be given) and the Prepaid Wi-Fi. Students will shoulder for the cost of
repair or maintenance of the gadget not covered by warranty.
 No dropped subjects, failing/INC grades incurred at the end of the semester. Otherwise,
gadgets will be surrendered to the UNP Student Council office.
 Students will return the gadget to OSAS before his clearance for graduation will be signed.
