System requirements
1 Introduction
TKD Scorer Lite is a simple PC-based program designed to cater for small
Taekwondo clubs not having the resources, money, or infrastructure to purchase full-
blown Taekwondo scoring systems. The simple interface affords competitors the
opportunity to become familiar with a tournament setting without leaving the familiar
club environment.
The best way to use TKD Scorer Lite is by using an external monitor/television
connected to a laptop/notebook computer. The external monitor faces the competitors
and audience. Switch the laptop monitor mode to dual mode so the display is show on
both the laptop's screen and the external monitor. Position 3 referees on the corners
of the mat, and devise a simple scoring detection system. For example, a referee may
hold up a blue flag or red flag when it is felt a point is scored. A 'marshal' then calls
out the point so the data operator can enter the appropriate point.
The registered version also supports the use of up to 4 USB gamepads for
scoring purposes.
The trial version does not have the same functionality as the
registered licensed version. Some of the configuration options will
be absent, e.g., electronic scoring is not possible with the trial
version, and round duration is ignored (it is of random duration).

8 Troubleshooting
Enter topic text here.
Select your gamepad, and click on the Properties button. If your gamepad is not
listed, either the gamepad driver has not been installed correctly or the gamepad is
incompatible.
Most gamepads have a diagnostic mode where you can test the gamepad. This varies
depending on the make and model. The image below refers to the Logitechâ
PrecisionÔ gamepad.
28 TKD Olympic Scorer Troubleshooting 28
If the diagnostics indicates the buttons are operating correctly, it is likely the software
is configured to detect different buttons to the one's you are pressing. By default, the
software is configured for the Logitechâ PrecisionÔ gamepad as follows:
R1=5
R2=7
R3=9
R4=1
29 TKD Olympic Scorer Troubleshooting 29
B1=6
B2=8
B3=10
B4=3
R1 denotes 'Red 1 point', R2 denotes 'Red 2 point', B1 denotes 'Blue 1 point', and so
on.
Therefore R1=5 indicates button 5 on the gamepad is used to signal a single point for
the red player. For example, if you were using an older gamepad and wanted to use
butons 1-4, you might make the following change to TKDScore.INI:
R1=1
R2=3
B1=2
B2=4
The next time the software is run, the following button configuration would be used:
For example, the software might be configured to need agreement from two judges
but only one gamepad is in use. To rectify this problem, change the
Buttons to register in the Configuration to 1.
