Feedback Obtained
Feedback is a vital part of any institute’s skill set. Constructive feedback is
a robust tool for creating a healthy environment, boosting productivity and
engagement, and achieving better results. It plays a crucial role in education
and learning by helping adopt new knowledge sooner and avoid repetitive
mistakes. The feedback, positively influences on communication, faculty
members’ interaction and teamwork results. MIT Academy of Engineering has been
continuously taking the feedback from all the stakeholders to improve its
teaching learning methodologies. The feedback obtained from all the
stakeholders is being analysed and utilized for the overall development of the
institute. Feedback on other than academic factors is taken on various factors
such as teaching of the faulty, extracurricular and cocurricular activities,
infrastructural facilities, various club activities, support for technical and
nontechnical events and campus life. The students’ responses regarding the
above stated areas are collected through online survey. It is analysed as per
the ratings received from the students. The feedback is discussed and analysed
in the various committees such as College development Committee, Academic
Council and Governing Council. Further, the comments and suggestions received
from theses committees are considered for the overall development. In this way,
the student satisfaction is improved as it is the ultimate goal of feedback.
One of the important stakeholders of any educational organization is a teacher.
The teachers’ responses regarding the overall development of the functionality
of the institute is accumulated by conducting the online survey. As mentioned
above, it remains opened for the discussion in the various committees. The
Placement office regularly collects feedback from all the companies visiting
for campus recruitment. The feedback is collected on a specified format at the
end of the selection process, mainly on the students performance in the
following areas: 1. Understanding of the core subjects and their application 2.
Understanding of new technologies 3. Core areas in which our students have
performed well 4. Communication Skills, Attitude Behavior The overall feedback
is also collected on the Institute / Curriculum / Teaching Methodology, etc.
The received feedback and suggestions from the employers helps us improve our
processes and create a pool of job ready talent as per industry requirement.
Alumni feedback helps in focusing the latest technology adopted by the
industry. The alumnus feedback on overall quality improvement is taken. It is
always used to bridge the gap between academia and industries and skill
development. The suggestions provided on the improvement of the curriculum are
incorporated in the curriculum development process. The Infrastructure
development suggestions are being forwarded to the management for the further
actions. The institute also organizes Parent Teacher meet once in an academic
year. The feedback from parents is collected during the meet. Moreover, the
feedback is taken when a parent visits the campus for one to one discussion.
The parameters that are considered for the feedback are Vision and Mission,
Objective and Outcomes, Curriculum, Teaching Learning Process, Faculty and
Staff, Academic Facilities, Administrative Facilities, Placement and overall
impression.

2.3.2 – Students mentoring system available in the institution? Give details. (maximum 500 words)
The institute does have student mentoring system and it is active from the first year. The students, after taking
admission fill in their details online. The first year administration office creates the database of all the first year
engineering students and the students are bifurcated in eight divisions. Each division is further divided into
batches. Each division is assigned with a class teacher and there are mentors allocated to each batch. The
following tasks are assigned to the mentors. 1. Get the details of the students like complete name, official email
address, roll number form the first year office. 2. Meet the students in person. Talk to them and ask them to
prepare a document file. The file should include their personal information form, a passport size photograph,
contact details, educational details and so on. 3. The students are informed to include supportive documents and
submit the file to the mentor. The mentor further asks the students to meet during office hours. 4. The office
hours are allocated in the time table and the students need to meet the mentor during the same. The mentoring
system is designed right from the first year and it continues till they graduate. The students meet their mentors
each week and discuss their issues, technical difficulties, etc. The mentor maintains the minutes of the meetings
and he can take necessary actions if required. The following are the activities mentor performs. 1. Maintains a
complete database of the student of the allocated batch. 2. Meeting the students (his mentees) once in a week
and find out their difficulties. 3. He can counsel the students during the meeting. 4. The mentor maintains the
record of the student attendance and discusses with the students whose attendance is not up to the mark. He
further talks to the parents of the student, if necessary. 5. He informs the achievements of the students to the
Class teacher / Coordinator. The achievements can be participation in an event, winning prizes, excellent work at
any technical event and so on. 6. The mentor addresses grievances of students and informs parents regarding
their attendance and Academic performance. The mentor maintains all the stated records and it is carried further
for the next academic year.

For every department, budget is allocated for repairs and maintenance. In case
of IT infrastructure related equipment, we have in house technical team which
gets the call for any technical problem. In every Laboratory Lab Assistants are
also got trained for initial fault finding. Lab assistant is capable of testing
and resolving basic faults. If the problem does not get resolved at their level
it is reported to the System Department. Systems Department’s technical team
solves the problem. System department keeps a few regular components/devices in
stock for the emergency replacements. In case the fault is related to Mother
Board – Component level or any functional board needs to be replaced,the
equipment is sent for repairs to outside experts. IT Network Infrastructure is
maintained by the Systems Department itself. We have Dell NSA 4600 Sonic
firewall, and Cisco Based Switches and Cisco based Access points WIFI
Controllers in the Network.

6.1 – Institutional Vision and Leadership
6.1.1 – Mention two practices of decentralization and participative management during the last year (maximum 500

To give a sense of ownership, the process of management is decentralized. The

important functions like the academics, research, quality control, student
activities, industrial relations, ecosystem for entrepreneurial and innovation
activities, faulty development, staff development, examination, training and
placement, ITC, stores and purchase are handled by a team of faculty and staff
representing various departments / Sections headed by a senior faculty or
staff. They take decisions as a team. The various proposed actions/decisions
are again discussed at an institutional meetings vide IDC represented by all
functional heads (Institutional development Cell Periodic Weekly/biweekly
meetings) and CDC represented by various stakeholders along with the functional
heads (College Development Cell Quarterly meeting). The individual functional
heads propose their own annual key performance parameters and suggest a plan to
continually improve the performance parameters of their functions, further
review the effectiveness of action taken and initiate appropriate corrective
and preventive actions to sustain the improved performance before attempting to
improve further. IQAC (A team headed by Dean QA along with representatives from
all the departments) plays important role to ensure the quality of academics,
cocurricular, extracurricular and related parameters is continually improving
by organizing audits both internal and external after every semester along with
disposal action, corrective action, preventive action and reviewing the
effectiveness of actions taken. In addition to the above internal committees,
there are following statutory committee which is represented by various
stakeholders to overlook the overall quality aspects of academics and allied
activities. The objectives of these committees are well defined and they meet
twice a year. 1. Board of Studies at all programmess 2. Academic Council 3.

Institute arranges several workshops to
develop research paper/proposal writing
and patent drafting skills amongst
faculty and students. MIT AOE endeavors
in collaborative research with esteem
research organization and industry. MIT
AOE in the years had developed the
ecosystem for conducting quality
research. Also college is giving the
Seed Money for completing the research
project.
Library, ICT and Physical The Central Library follows the SLIM 21
Infrastructure / Instrumentation library management software that
carries out daytoday activities and we
also purchase an upgraded version of
the software annually. The barcode
facility is available for book
circulation. The Central Library is an
ISO 9001: 2015 certified, which in
itself shows the quality of the
library. We conduct library committee
meetings, library staff meetings and
also take feedback from students for
the continuous improvement of the
library. We provide ICT based services
like an email reminder, SMS,
selfrenewal of books, webOPAC, digital
library, article indexing and
abstracting, access to ejournals, etc.

Human Resource Management HRM plays a key role in acquiring and
retaining high quality teachers. To
publicize the job openings, newspapers,
walkins and institute website are the
sources. A candidate can explore about

the website. HR also takes additional
efforts to contact TP cell of reputed
institutes like IITs and NITs to get
the resume for the further recruitment
process, especially Ph.D. candidates.
To retain the faculty, the institute is

Industry Interaction / Collaboration Corporate Relations office has the
mandate to work hand in hand with
industry that works in the space

conjunction with MITAoE academic

Corporate with a strong engineering

Best practices are used to maintain quality as an alternative to mandatory

legislated standards and can be based on selfassessment or benchmarking. Best
practice is a feature of accredited institute like MIT AOE. The following are
some of the best practices of the institute. ? Good Teaching Learning Process.

student At the core of all MIT Academy of Engineering policies are students and
their welfare, next are the employees and the society at large. MIT Academy of
Engineering’s policy to all its employees is based on mutual trust and a winwin
approach with no area for settling any personal vendetta. Fair employee
policies ensure a proper work culture, proper competency mapping and improved
performance by employees Our policy for career development and promotional
avenues for employees has led to deputation of employees for higher studies and
timely promotions and increments that are linked to a biannual performance
appraisal based on student feedback, departmental performance, initiatives
undertaken, technical skill enhancement, research contribution and team working
capabilities. Employees are encouraged to have an interaction with outside
world in their domain both at the international and national level through
financial support in paper publishing, patent filing, attending seminars,
STTPs, workshops, QIPs and Professional body membership. A welldefined Welfare
scheme is there for all financial and other support from the institute.
Addition to it, there is Group Health Insurance policy for employees along with
their family members. Our training and development policy is not only aimed at
skill enhancement of an employee but also to help the employee for promotion
and to take on higher responsibilities. This policy helps the management to
promote the staff and help in bringing about healthy competition among
different employees. To promote the training and development of employees, RD
projects and IndustryInstitute Interaction opportunities are facilitated,
industrial visits, guest lectures and subject experts sessions are held on a
regular basis. Employees are also deputed for trainings frequently both within
and outside the institute and a record of the same is maintained in their
personal file. Merit Scholarship The deserving and needy students of at MIT
Academy of Engineering have been fortunate in receiving excellent support from
the Management by providing help to the deserving and needy students through
this scholarship. The Needy and poor deserving meritorious students are
rendered all possible help in the form of concession in fees. This scholarship
is available for all students subject to the fulfillment of eligibility
criteria specified by the respective authorities. The Head of the department
scrutinizes the form, shortlists the students and forwards the list of
shortlisted students along with the recommendation to the Head of the
Institute. The shortlisted students are interviewed by a Panel, Chaired by the
Head of the Institute. The panel consists of head of various departments.
Concessions upto 15 of the fees are extended to the students subject to the
recommendation of the committee. Minimum 01 student from each department is
recommended under this scholarship scheme every year. Average 1015 students
avail the benefit of Merit scholarship in their fees.

In continuation of strengthening the established quality parameters, MITAoE

successfully completed the transition audit of ISO from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO
9001:2015. Skill development courses were made available for students of T Y
B.Tech. who obtained skills in these courses relevant to their respective core
fieldofstudy. Projectbased learning gave an industryrelevant exposure to
students which immensely helped them in the application of their conceptual
understanding attained in classrooms to solve reallife problems. The
creditbased internship helped students in realizing the completion of their
course along with acquiring worklife exposure at various organizations. Various
clubs of MITAoE impart liberal education for the students. The Cultural club,
Sports club, Technical clubs, literary club, and many recreational clubs
empower our students and prepare them to deal with complexity, diversity, and
change. There are 23 clubs in MITAoE. It provides students with a broad
knowledge of the wider world such as science, art, culture, and society. Each
club is a skill centered for a specific domain. It allows enhancing skills and
indepth study in a specific area of interest. All club activities of MITAoE
help students to develop a sense of social responsibility as well as strong and
transferable intellectual and practical skills such as communication,
analytical and problemsolving skills, and a demonstrated ability to apply
knowledge and skills in realworld settings. From time to time, the club focuses
on organizing a rich and diverse array of activities such as debates, speech
competitions, group discussions, poetry writing and recitation, short story
writing, quiz contests, interactive/lecture sessions, project competitions,
workshops, hackathons, sports competitions, etc. Through the publication of
Student Magazine ‘Ajaanvruksha’ tries to inculcate the literary habit and reach
out to language and literature lovers and try to create a space for sharing
emotions and thoughts. As work does not happen in a vacuum, engineers have to
communicate on a daily basis with each other, supervisors, people in different
departments, and even with clients. Good communication skills, leadership
skills, interpersonal communication skills are important pillars of
personality, which help them to reflect what they think in a proper and apt
manner.

8.Future Plans of Actions for Next Academic Year
Smart Green and ICT enabled Campus is planned to provide a centralized framework
that links systems and make it easy to identify limitations, problems, and
opportunities to do things better and better. It will track students experiences
and monitors campus efficiency to enhance learning and improve institutional
operations. New experiences like these engage students more deeply in campus
life. They will position the institute as a stateoftheart environment—the kind
that students, faculty, and researchers want to be part of. It would lead to
being paperless using the ERP based system. ICT tools will be prompted at a large
scale. The IndustryInstituteInteraction will provide a platform for both the
students as well as faculty members to be aware of industry expectations of skill
sets required for students. This will enables students to be aware of the lacunae
in their skills and provides an opportunity to upgrade them. Hence, every
Academic School will be asked for signing at least two MoU per program with the
reputed companies during every semester. To bring the effiency and effectiveness
in the exam system, the institute has planned to install the digital evaluation
system. It will enable evaluators to mark a scanned script or online response on
the computer screen itself, rather than on paper. This results in the reduced
threat of errors and malpractices, thus, improving the accuracy of the evaluation
process. Filing patents and their publication has greater prominence in the
institutes nowadays. These will be the document published to contribute to the
advancement of knowledge in institutional as well as a scientific field. This
will help increase an academic excellence globally. Since the entrepreneurship
Development Cell is growing at our institute, the focus will be given on creating
startups. It will lead to a healthy ecosystem for Entrepreneurship and
innovation. A product audit will help our organization identify any nonconformity
in our products and identify the correct measures to fixing them up. In view of
this the Academic departments will carry out product audit other than an academic
audit. The Faculty training and development center is on the cards. The institute
being ISO certified will focus on Identification of Training Needs as per the
Competency Matrix. The students will be given more platforms to participate in
curricular, extracurricular events at national and international level. The
Institute plans to enhance students participation globally through improved club
activities. The students and faculty exchange program will be implemented through
improved industryinstitute interaction and global linking Institute plans. It
will help promote exchange programs with foreign universities. Considering the
current trends and dynamic revolution in the industries, the institute has
decided to revise the curriculum as per the needs. From the next academic year,
the entire curriculum will be revised in to the skillbased curriculum. The cadre
ratio for faculty will be improved by motivating on roll faculty to register for
Ph.D. Those who are already registered, the institute would support them to
complete their research work.
