The Happy Prince Reflection Paper

When I read the story it was very good and interesting. It was a story full of love and
kindness to people. I liked how the story showed a statue even though he was not
human gave his love for the people in the city. The statue was really nice of himself to
donate his own jewels, gold and ruby’s for the poor people in the city. His actions are
really kind towards the people unlike the mayor who only likes material things. The
reason for him being so kind was because when he was a human he lived in a rich and
royal family. He never experienced sadness because it was allowed in their house, but
after he died he was made into a statue overlooking the city on top of a hill. Because he
was on top of a hill he could see everybody in the city. What he saw made him cry
because he could see all the poor people staving and trying to make a living because the
rich do not care about them or even try to help them. So the statue takes it upoin
himself to help the people of the city and donates his own jewels so that the city will be
filled with joy and happiness. This works and the poor people are enjoying their lives by
a little bit but because he donated all of his jewels the mayor throws the statue away.
The statue is full of kindness and generosity because he gives his only belongings to
people who are not rich. I think this teaches us to love people more and show them
kindness. The world should not be filled with hate or anger but should be filled with
happiness and joy. We should all help each other and unite so that the world can be
whole. I believe through these acts of kindness the world can be better and stronger
because if the world is united then we can all be happy, just like the Happy Prince
wants.
