Another kind of folklore is the ethno-epic or folk epic. As learned, these are heroic exploits or
events of a hero under supernatural control. It is intended to entertain and praise a hero. An
epic singer, who may either be a man or woman, chants or sings this long narrative. S/he is believed to
have a prodigious memory and an eloquent tongue, as well as learns best during the night, for it is
quiet. One famous epic by the Suludnons in the island of Panay discovered by the anthropologist
