I. INTRODUCTION
Damini or িদামনী or दा_मनी is a word that has it's
origins rooted in Sanskrit, it's literal meaning
translates to 'Lighning'.
The idea of Damini was triggered by the immediate
social condition of our country. Eveyday when we
swtich on the television into the news channels we
find cases to the likes of Priyanka Reddy, Asifa
Bano, Jyoti Singh, Delta Meghwal, etc & many more
women & ladies who fall victim to the 'cannibals' in
the society. Society is not human anymore, girls
fear to enjoy their freedom & dignity of being a male
is near to an end due to the work of these 'animals'.
Requesting the government or waiting for the
judiciary to provide decisions is more than late in
this fast moving 21st century, lest the victim should
suffer throughout the rest of her life. Damini is an
initiative for prevention as well as fighting against
these impersonated 'demons'. It is a way by which
our future generations, our descendents can enjoy
a free & just India where the law & order are made
for, by & of the common masses.
II. EASE OF USE
A. What’s it in a Nutshell
Damini’s a different approach to the pre-existing
technologies, to be specific it’s an upgradation of
whats there available in the market
B. Maintaining the Integrity of the Specifications
Damini will be active in the background since the
phone’s boot. It’ll be running in a minimized
notification so that it’s dormancy is least noticeable.
The app will have admin access & all required
permissions pre-enabled after it’s setup. Users can
pre-register phone numbers & e-mail IDs of their
trusted contacts in the app database. In case of
emergency, the dormant system can be activated.
III. WORKING PRINCIPLES
 Using touch gestures/patterns on the locked
screen of the phone itself – also customisable to
unlocked).
 Pressing the power/home/volume up/volume
down buton ‘n’ number of times (where ‘n’ is set by
user & button configuration is also configurable –
users can even set if they want to have their own
button pattern, like volume down+power for
screenshots in some phones.
A. After the activation
After being activated it will send the location of the
victim's mobile to the trusted contacts via SMS,
WhatsApp Text Message, E-Mail, etc. The location
sent will not only contain the GPS adress, but will
also use Cell Tower Technology & Internet (if
available). By using a combined data of Cell Tower
Location & GPS, the trusted contacts can get the
appropriate whereabouts of the victim. Alert
messages will be sent out repeatedly after a certain
interval gap (as pre-set by the user). Trusted
contacts can also track the user's location &
journey through this app even on a normal day.
B. WHAT ELSE?! What’s the added bonus?
The drone is the second part of the Damini project.
It will basically be an automated aerial robot which
will use the location feed provided by the Damini
app. The feel will be a combination of gps location,
cell tower location & other information regarding
the position of the app's user. The drone will be
equipped with advanced IR cameras, to see in the
night time & pepper sprays. IR cameras will be
required for low light video footage while pepper
sprays will be required against the
attacker/molester. The drone will use AI algorithms
to sense the nearest male to the victim. Through
motion capture if can also lock the victim & move
as the victim if shifted from one place to another.
The drone will attack the nearest male to the victim
with it's pepper spray. There will also be sound
detectors (for screams) so that the drone may find
it easier to sense the victim.
IV. FUTURE THOUGHTS
Damini is currently planning to collab with the

government. We want such a fleet of small but
sleathy drones to be stationed at every possible
government building, specially apartments belonging
to police, army & other civil forces. Indian
political administration is disintegrated in smaller
blocks, and if each ward of a locality possess
centres as station of this drone fleet then such
crimes could be avoided. Every step taken is a
prevention of these inhunan activities & making a
better future for our coming generations
V. ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I would like to acknowledge everyone who played a
vital role towards the successful submission of my
idea. I would like to personally thank my college,
University of Engineering and Management (UEM),
Kolkata to provide me the opportunity and permission
to present my idea in front of the world. I would also

to thanks heartfully my parents who supported me
throughout this time.
VI. REFERENCES
The immediate reason for our idea was the social
scenario of our nation. We the next generation, the
future of our country should take up our
responsibility rather than hoping the government to
fulfill so for us. We personally researched on various
details regarding the market availability of various
applications in this genre, basics of UAVs, flaws in the
already ongoing system and how can we prevent such
crimes from being taking place. We may be unable to
present all our ideas in an understandable way in this
document but we sure will be able to impress you if
you let us elaborate our mission. Starting from a local
basis we plan to take this initiative national in the
figure, if possible. We may transform this conception
into an business plan so that it can be executed in a
large scale. Hope you will surely like our attempt &
