5.3 EUT Performance Criteria and Monitoring:

Performance as required by IEC 61547.

Product Specific Performance:

No. Description
A During the test, no change of the Iuminous intensity shall be observed and the regulating
control, if any, shall operate during the test as intended.
B During the test, the Iuminous intensity may change to any value. After the test, the Iuminous
intensity shall be restored to its initial value within 1 min. Regulating controls need not
function during the test, but after the test, the mode of the control shall be the same as before
the test provided that during the test no mode changing commands were given.
C During and after the test, any change of the luminous intensity is allowed and the lamp(s) may
be extinguished. After the test, within 30 min, all functions shall return to normal, if necessary
by temporary interruption of the mains supply and/or operating the regulating control.

Additional requirement for lighting equipment incorporating a starting device: After the test,
the lighting equipment is switched off. After half an hour, it is switched on again. The lighting
equipment shall start and operate as intended.

Description of how performance was observed during testing:

General notes: The VP6000 utilizes a 24 MHz oscillator on the processor card, which is internally to the
processor at 1 GHz and to generate the DDR clock at 400 MHz. The other microcontrollers use 16 MHz
oscillators.

6 Radiated Emissions

6.1 Method

Tests are performed in accordance with CISPR 22.

TEST SITE: 3m SAC

Measurement Uncertainty

For radiated emissions,

U lab (3.5 dB at 3m and 3.5 dB at 10m below 1 GHz, and 4.2 dB at 3m above 1
U
GHz) < CISPR (5.2 dB), which is the reference value in CISPR 16-4-2 Table 1, hence the compliance of
the product is only based on the measured value, and no measurement uncertainty correction is required,
based on CISPR 22 and CISPR 11 (for 2006 and later revisions) Clause 11.

Sample Calculation

The field strength is calculated by adding the Antenna Factor and Cable Factor, and subtracting the
Amplifier Gain (if any) from the measured reading. The basic equation with a sample calculation is as
follows:

FS = RA + AF + CF - AG
Where
FS = Field Strength in dBV/m
RA = Receiver Amplitude (including preamplifier) in dBV
CF = Cable Attenuation Factor in dB
AF = Antenna Factor in dB
AG = Amplifier Gain in dB

In the following table(s), the reading shown on the data table reflects the preamplifier gain. An example
for the calculations in the following table is as follows.

Assume a receiver reading of 52.0 dBV is obtained. The antenna factor of 7.4 dB and cable factor of
1.6 dB is added. The amplifier gain of 29 dB is subtracted, giving a field strength of 32 dBV/m. This
value in dBV/m was converted to its corresponding level in V/m.

RA = 52.0 dBV
AF = 7.4 dB/m
CF = 1.6 dB
AG = 29.0 dB

FS = 32 dBV/m

To convert from dBV to V or mV the following was used:

where UF = Net Reading in V

(NF / 20)
UF = 10
NF = Net Reading in dBV

Example:

FS = RA + AF + CF – AG = 52.0 + 7.4 + 1.6 – 29.0 = 32.0

= 39.8 V/m
(32 dBV / 20)
UF = 10

7 AC Mains Conducted Emissions

7.1 Method

Tests are performed in accordance with CISPR 15.

TEST SITE: Vertical Ground Reference Plane

Measurement Uncertainty
U U
For conducted emissions, lab (3.1 dB in worst case) < CISPR (3.6 dB), which is the reference value in
CISPR 16-4-2 Table 1, hence the compliance of the product is only based on the measured value, and no
measurement uncertainty correction is required, based on CISPR 22 and CISPR 11 (for 2006 and later
revisions) Clause 11.

Sample Calculations

The following is how net line-conducted readings were determined:

NF = RF + LF + CF + AF
Where NF = Net Reading in dBV
RF = Reading from receiver in dBV
LF = LISN or ISN Correction Factor in dB
CF = Cable Correction Factor in dB
AF = Attenuator Loss Factor in dB

To convert from dBV to V or mV the following was used:

where UF = Net Reading in V

(NF / 20)
UF = 10
NF = Net Reading in dBV

Example:

NF = RF + LF + CF + AF = 28.5 + 0.2 + 0.4 + 20.0 = 49.1 dBV

= 285.1 V/m
(49.1 dBV / 20)
UF = 10

Notes:

(1) The EUT met the requirements for a High Intensity Discharge (HID) Luminaire. Any severe power drop
or interruption will cause the HID Lamp to drop-out (extinguish) and will not restrike until the lamp is
allowed to cool. There was no degradation of performance in the motion motor system.

Deviations, Additions, or Exclusions: “Any interruption in the power supply, or even a serious voltage dip
for a few cycles, causes any HID lamp to go out. It takes minutes before the lamp will restart, because the
arc tube has to cool, and the internal vapor pressure has to decrease to the point when the arc can
restrike. This restrike time, together with the warm-up period, means an 8 min to 15 min waiting period
before full light returns.”
