Reasons why people donate on crowdfunding platforms

Fundraising is the kind art of teaching the delight of giving. A very emerging aspect of funding, also known as
Crowdfunding, has gained popularity in recent times. It is a way of uplifting the capital through the collective effort
of friends, family, customers, and individual investors. This approach taps into the collective efforts of an outsized
number of individuals, typically via the web. It is a source of strengthening their networks for greater reach and ex-
posure. In other words, it is considered to be a  sort of  crowdsourcing and alternative finance. This fund is open
to every private person as well as economic actors. To date, crowdfunding, as a platform of raising funds, has been
used for artistic and creative projects, medical expenses, travel, and community-oriented social projects.

It has positively gained popularity due to the various major reasons attached to it:-

· It has a better reach due to which you have access to thousands of accredited investors who can view, share,
and also offer to your fundraising campaign.
· It tends to have better marketing agendas as it promotes your campaign through social media, email newslet-
ters, and other online marketing tactics. As progress is efficiently covered by the media outlets, one can double
down the funds by steering traffic to their website and other company resources, this shows it fits well into the
digital world.
· It eliminates the efforts of printing documents, compiling binders, and manually updating each one when
there’s an update, you can present everything online in a much more accessible format, leaving one with more
time to run your business instead of fundraising.
· Many people also donate because of the financial benefits they receive. For a suitable example- when people
donate to any registered charity in Canada charity, they receive a tax receipt for their donation and the receipt
can then be submitted with your annual tax return to receive the tax credit and save on capital gains tax when
one donates securities directly. This ensures that more money is going in good hands and will be helping the
neediest people. Also one can donate his own earned money to his/her favorite charity. A big contribution to the
charity could be a lot of savings on the taxes. Through the donation, process donors can also avail of numerous
tax benefits.
· When one makes donations to charity or any crowdfunding platform, it promotes the feeling of happiness of
helping the people leading to the inner satisfaction of hearts.
· Various people consider it important to donate as it not only helps them to continue their vital work but also
helps them in improving their emotional wellbeing.
· Millions of people contribute to charity regularly to support causes they believe in, as well as for the positive
effect it has on their own lives.
· As humans are considered emotional beings, they tend to attach themselves with the project which has a good
back story making them sentimental. It pulls on their heartstrings and they start to feel like a part of that story
and help them all of his heart. When people donate money to charity, they create opportunities to meet new
people who believe in the same cause which inspires them, making a real impact on those who can infuse their
everyday life with more meaning.
· Charity is considered to be a noble quality in man which brings welfare and a ray of hope to society. It ampli-
fies human hearts and escalates the message of brotherhood and unconditional love among the people.
· It also teaches the importance of generosity to the people who like to give happiness by money, food, or kind-
ness to people in need. When people show their generosity, they might give away things or money or put others
before one.  They give in a way that benefits the recipient. Generous people are also able to receive in such a
way that the giver gains from the interchange in the form of blessings and reputation.
· Donating allows you to show gratitude as sometimes it can be easy to forget. There are thousands of charities
and causes doing vital work across the country and around the world. When you are willing to share and are
looking for a charity to support, it reminds us of all that we have and the act of donating to charity is a way to
express our gratitude.
· It inspires others to bring a positive change in themselves and teaches the lesson of generosity and kindness.
Charity reflects your inner values as for many people charity is a direct reflection of their inner values. It is a
deeply fulfilling exercise to be able to give to a cause that they are passionate about.
· It boosts the motivation to go further in life. A lot of people go around the world diligently towards the chari-
ties that they have an interest in. Sometimes people donate to charity to earn respect whereas some people do it
out of social service.
· Humans either look up to people who they consider to be their heroes, or they like to rise to a podium that is re-
spected by everyone else. They tend to become a trendsetter and so they donate generously and there are very
few people in the world around us who do not want their names to be associated with something good.
· Everyone wants stardom; everyone wants the love and affection of the public and wishes to be considered as a
role model or a Leader among the common folks.
· It improves the leadership quality of a person as when a person is given the tag of a Leader, he is considered to
be an important part of society. Their views are acknowledged and valued. The words are considered to be
golden and people tend to respect their opinions. This gives them a feeling of importance. The donors who gave
money to the project should be given satisfaction. If they are aware of the functioning of the project, if they say
that the project has a long term and sustainable future, it is sure to have a positive impact on them.

Donating money or anything is a good idea but until and unless you know where this money does go. In numerous
cases donors often encounter so many leaders mismanaging their funds. One should always remain careful and look
upon the other NGOs which are transparent as transparency becomes an extremely important factor that allows ev-
ery NGO to become a trustworthy and safe place to donate their hard-earned income. It doesn’t only guarantee
consent but also gives trust to your partner in the mission they are supporting. Tracing the path of all money that
flows in and out of your non-profit should be achieved with open accounting practices. The organization should
take some steps to make their organization more transparent like they should update information on time to donors
and the donors should have satisfactory knowledge about where is their money being used and how people are get-
ting affected by their contribution. If accountability and transparency are efficiently implemented in all parts of the
organization, donors may tend to make strong relationships with the volunteers.
