A Brighter Tomorrow
Our present government did not live up to our expectation, they are lacking in many
aspects. The Duterte administration was not ready to face this Covid-19 pandemic.
Inappropriate actions were made and also their responses were slow causing many lives
to be lost. There are moments when they focus first on political agendas, beautification
of the environment, protecting their allies in the event of anomalies, etc. instead of
prioritizing the main issue which is the fight against covid-19.

We, as citizens of the Republic of the Philippines, must also take actions not just
the government itself. If our government is lacking, then we need to support it. We should
follow the rules set up by them, like maintaining safe distancing when we go outside of
our households, or go in the public. We should always wear facemasks to lessen the
likelihood of transmission of the disease. Also, we should be truthful when we are having
symptoms, we should not lie just to avoid criticism. The health and safety of those who
encounter us are also in danger. We should not just think for ourselves but also let’s care
for others. We should make it easier for the frontliners. There is a need to raise the
salaries or benefits of our frontliners, for they are in the most danger in these
circumstances.

The government is not the sole responsible for fighting this pandemic, it needs the
people to cooperate with them. It is okay to criticize the bad administration of the
government however we must not focus solely on it. We should actively think what is best
to contribute and do in order to help in resolving the issue we are facing. Lastly, we should
vote for a leader that is competent, has love for the people and the country, honest has
accountability and passionate.

A Hero in Me

The country and its people need lawyers who are true and just. Nowadays, many
atrocities in the society are happening. Many are taking advantage of their powers and
even though we have knowledge of it, we still cannot punish those people of their deeds.
There is a need for us law students to partake in changing or improving our legal system.

As a student of this course, Juris Doctor, I have this responsibility in me to make a

strong stand against injustices. I will help people, especially those who cannot afford
paying a lawyer. I will make sure that the rights of the people are not violated. I will not be
tempted by material things. I will not succumb to those who are evil. I will fight for the
people even if it is against those with power.

As someone who has knowledge, I must make use of it in doing good things. Even
when things are hard, we should not give up, we must try our hardest to make sure that
justice will prevail.
