Identify at least 5 moral challenges of globalization.

Emphasize on how these

challenges directly or indirectly affect your community. Be specific in your
answer and your explanation must be very clear and concise.

Globalization fills the gap between nations, in reality the world is brought up
closely for trading linked the opportunities as well as the challenges in countries. Here in
the Philippines we know that we are struggling much as we all know that we are a 3 rd
world country and half of all Filipinos are suffering from poverty. Many are struggling
and people who dies every day because of poverty still increases. Because of
globalization many have flourished, but still many are struggling. According to the
source of these moral challenges of Globalization;

First off, is the real crisis which is faced differently in every country. We as people,
sometimes forget our obligations as humans our need to help others. Our own
selfishness can cause chaos because of our selfish-needs we want tend to forget about
others. In instances, when this pandemic started we forget our responsibility as an
individual in the society, we buy and hoard the things we supposed to not need. Some
essential things (food, sanitary things and etc.) had a shortage and other people have
nothing to buy because we think of ourselves only. If we could be more compassionate
and reasonable no one would starve and suffer if we think ethically.

Human Security, makes us feel like more secure as we should in our community.
This does not define how the government or the law define security, it’s in us who feel
this when we are in certain place nor with someone whom we feel safe. This can greatly
affect someone in the society, on how he/she defines safety. As a woman, I feel that the
world is not as safe as what I thought as before. Many are victims of rape, catcalling
and getting blamed for the clothes we wear. Isn’t we thought to live as ourselves and be
comfortable with our own skin, how would we do that if the society already criticizes us
on how we dress, I believed that instead blaming the victim we should end this mentality
and teach men/people to respect. This only means that safety does not relay on other
people but ourselves, I do not trust some of the policemen and people in the authority
because they don’t protect but they somehow do something threating.

Economic justice, this may not affect as directly but we can surely be affected by
economic imbalances which is happening today. This affect the workers in the
community, in instance a worker who is capable and able to do his job well does not
have enough educational background which prohibits him from earning much wages
according to his work and effort. In this way it can slow the demand and economic
growth because they limit themselves with the thing they can buy, they might spend
their earning because they don’t earn as much as their potential. In achieving economic
justice I think we should focus ourselves in giving more attention to free education and
assistance to the people who cannot afford, give them wider scope of opportunities to
grow.
Democratic Justice, we need to fully understand democracy to enable us to think
clearly and understand the society more. We may have a democratic government which
allow us to be fully expressive with our thoughts and opinions, but personally we don’t
achieve self-democracy for a reason that we have boundaries to follow. “In this
democracy there is no room for guilt, but only for compassion”, based on what I have
understood we humans have the privilege in living democratically, and we should not
feel guilty for this because we should promise to give back to others, the gift we have
received. “There is no place for resignation, but only determination”, this means we
should not stop in giving and helping others fight against poverty and inequality. Like
those people who promoted community pantry enabling people to receive free food, as
way to help them survive against hunger brought by this pandemic.

Lastly, global thinking. We humans have a indefinite wants in life that we want to
achieve. And instead considering other people’s welfare or their own perspective we
tend to judge them just by seeing their status in life, which is narrow. We need to
expand our perspective, we need to stop judging and start understanding.
And as a business student this will surely affect me as an individual. We are thought to
be empathic and considering, we need to be a entrepreneur who thinks about
supplementing the missing things in the market.

Mainly our perspective is being affected by the status we have in our economy. Through
globalization many international products are being indulge by many and this of course
prohibit other people to enjoy basic necessities we have. We tend to prioritize our wants
and forget the ethical actions we should do for the beneficiary of all people.
