So, only ver- tical direction stoppers supplied by our manufac- tory are to be mounted on the engine bed. 2) The stoppers are to be mounted adjusting the allowance from the common-base between 0 mm ~ 0.5mm, (4) Flexible Joints and Hoses for the Piping 1) The flexible joints and flexible hoses are to be mounted being in the condition of their normal length except the cases which, there are special indications. 2) They are not to be mounted being extended, short- ened nor twisted 56 o~0Smm Commonbase WEENIE. sv os 3) In such cases as the intermediate piping length becomes very long from diesel engine to the flexible joints or hoses mounting position, the intermediate piping is to be supported with the engine bolts etc. (Check the intermediate piping vibration in trial operation.) 4) Be careful so that flexible joints may not be imposed by the weight of the pipings connected to them. The pipings of hull side are to be supported in such posi- tions as to be near as much as possible to the flexi- ble pipings and as the hull strength is sufficient, '5) Among the valves or cocks mounted in inlet/outlet of each piping for the engine, these, which have no problem by the Rule and by structural point, are to be mounted on the hull side. (To be mounted with the sufficient supports in the positions which have less the vibration.) 6) In case of the piping with 8mm out dia. or less, damper coil should be made. (I the flexible joints are used, their proper weight will cause the vibration ) In the basis of attention to all the above items, make the installation, mounting and trial operation. ‘When the abnormal vibration is found, make the appropriate repair works reconfirming all the above. NOTE: There is the speed range in which the vibration amplitude is large in the start and stop of diesel engine set. However, this is the resonance point between diesel engine set and vibration isolators and not the abnor- mal vibration. Remark: Besides the above periodic maintenance, check the vibration isolating rubber when the abnormal vibration is occurred during the engine operation. Replace the vibration isolating rubber when the above toler- ance is not satisfied, 58 iam Hert (2) Periodic Maintenance and Replacement Procedures 4) Vibration isolating rubber appearance check (inspect every 6 months) + Check for the occurrence of tiny cracks on the rubber surface by visual observation, * At the same time, check for peel off in the other rubber portions, melt on the rubber surface and abnormal swelling (care must be taken not to spill oils on the rubber as it is mainly affected by the lubricating oil, fuel, or the like). Replace when the abnormality is detected 2) Vibration isolating rubber dimension check (inspect every year) * Change in dimension ‘When measuring the vibration isolating rubber fatigue amount, be sure to measure in a state that the engine is stopped with lubricating oil, cooling water or the like in the operating state. ‘The measuring point shall be at least 2 points (as distant as possible from each other). Replace when the mean value H is 45mm or below. 3) Cautions in replacing the vibration isolating rubber + When replacing the vibration isolating rubber, be sure to replace all of them. Never replace only one. (When not all of them are replaced, there will be difference in the secular change in each vibra- tion isolating rubber (mainly in permanent strain) and result in misalignment.) 59. 7.
