Atal Tunnel has officially been certified by the World Book of Records
 Atal Tunnel has officially been certified by the UK-based World Book of Records as World's
Longest Highway Tunnel above 10,000 Feet.
 Director-General of Border Roads Organisation Lieutenant General Rajeev Chaudhry
received the award.
 The 9.02 km long Atal Tunnel, that runs under the Rohtang Pass was constructed on Manali-
Leh Highway, dedicated to the Nation by PM Modi on 3rd October 2020.
PMKSY scheme extended till March 2026 with an outlay of Rs 4,600 crore
 As per the food processing ministry its flagship scheme 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada
Yojana (PMKSY)' has been extended till March 2026 with an allocation of ₹4,600 crores.
 In May 2017, the Central Govt. had launched SAMPADA (Scheme for Agro-Marine Processing
and Development of Agro-Processing Clusters) with an outlay of ₹6,000 crores.
 The scheme was renamed PMKSY in August 2017.
Haryana Cabinet approved the nod for anti-conversion Bill
 The Haryana Cabinet on 08 February 2022, approved the draft of The Haryana Prevention
of Unlawful Conversion of Religious Bill, 2022, aimed at prohibiting religious conversions.
 It prohibits conversions that are affected through misrepresentation, force, undue influence,
coercion, allurement, or by any fraudulent means or by marriage or for marriage by making
it an offense.
Akshay Kumar appointed as the brand ambassador of Uttarakhand
 Actor Akshay Kumar has been appointed as the brand ambassador of Uttarakhand on 7
Feb'22.
 CM Dhami presented Akshay with a traditional cap of the state, a shawl, and a painting of
all the gates of the four pilgrimage sites -- Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
 Before Akshay Kumar, cricketer Rishabh Pant was also appointed as Uttarakhand’s brand
ambassador in December 2021.
Foundation for world's third-largest cricket stadium laid in Jaipur
 The world's third-largest cricket stadium is going to be built in Jaipur.
 Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly laid the
foundation stone of the project virtually in February 2022.
 It will be the second-largest cricket stadium in India.
 A stadium each will be built in Jodhpur and Udaipur as well.
India becomes 1st country in world to administer COVID-19 DNA vaccine
 India has become the first country in the world to administer DNA vaccine against COVID-19

 New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson was adjudged 'Captain of the Year' at the 15th
Annual ESPNcricinfo awards 2022.
 Williamson won it for leading his side to the World Test Championship win and a runners-up
place at the T20 World Cup.
 The jury picked the best performances in the three men's international formats, and
performances in women's cricket at large, in the 2021 calendar year.
February 10 is observed as World Pulses Day every year: United Nations
 February 10 is observed as World Pulses Day every year and is being celebrated by the
United Nations since 2009.
 In 2016, the UN declared that year to be the International Year of pulses.
 The UN hopes to double the cultivation of pulses by the year 2050.
 The theme of World Pulses Day 2022 is ‘Pulses to empower youth in achieving sustainable
agri-food systems.’
S. Kishore appointed as Chairman Staff Selection Commission (SSC)
 S. Kishore has been appointed as Chairman Staff Selection Commission(SSC) according to a
decision by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on 08 Feb 2022.
 He is presently posted as Special Secretary Department of Commerce, Ministry of
Commerce and Industry.
 S. Kishore is a 1989 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre.
J&K becomes the first UT to be integrated with Single Window System
 Jammu & Kashmir has become the first Union Territory to be onboarded the National Single
Window System (NSWS).
 This marks a major leap in Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) in J&K.
 Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha launched the J&K Single Window Clearance System
integrated with NSWS on Feb 08, 2022.
 NSWS is linked with India Industrial Land Bank (IILB) which hosts 45 industrial parks of J&K
U19 World Cup 2022: India beats England in the final
 India won the 2022 U19 World Cup title after beating England by 4 wickets
 Shaik Rasheed and Nishant Sindhu cracked the 50's in chase of 190 as India clinched
record-extending fifth U19 World Cup title in Antigua.

 BCCI president Sourav Ganguly announced a cash prize of 40 lakhs.
Legendary singer and Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar dies
 Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6, 2022.
 She crooned songs in over a thousand Hindi films and has sung in over thirty-six Indian
languages.
 Nicknamed as 'The Nightingale of India', the singer was bestowed with India's highest
civilian honor Bharat Ratna in 2001.
 She was also honored with the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.
National Women’s Day: 13 February
 National Women's Day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of the Nightingale of India
Sarojini Naidu.
 She played a major role in India's struggle for freedom against British colonial rule.
 She was the first woman Governor of UP, then known as the United Provinces.
 She became the first Indian woman ever to be elected as the President of the Indian
National Congress.
Surat to get India’s 1st bullet train station by December 2024
 Surat is set to have its own bullet train station.
 It is scheduled to be completed by December 2024.
 The bullet train station will be the first one built along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route.
 The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project will be the country's first bullet train route.
 The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) has taken the responsibility for
constructing the project.
Social Justice and Empowerment Department launches ‘SMILE’
 The Dept of Social Justice and Empowerment will launch the scheme “SMILE: Support for
Marginalised Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise” on 12 Feb'22.
 There are 2 sub-schemes under this - ‘Central Sector Scheme for Comprehensive
Rehabilitation for Welfare of Transgender Persons’ and ‘Central Sector Scheme for
Comprehensive Rehabilitation of persons engaged in the act of Begging’.
LCA Tejas to participate in Singapore Air Show- 2022
 A 44 member contingent of the Indian Air Force reached Changi International Airport in
Singapore on 12 Feb 2022 to participate in the ‘Singapore Air Show-2022’.
 The Air Show will be held from 15th to 18th February 2022.
 Singapore Air Show is a biennial event that provides a platform for the global aviation
industry to showcase their products.

Democracy Index for 2021: India ranks 46th out of 165 nations
 The 2021 edition of the EIU’s Democracy Index was released on 10 February 2022.
 Since the year 2006, the Economist Intelligence has been bringing forth the state of
democracy worldwide in around 165 independent nations and two territories through its
democracy index.
 It was topped by Norway.
 India was ranked 46th out of 165 nations.
