Tree City of the World’ Tag
The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (UN-FAO) along with Arbor Day
Foundation has recognized Hyderabad and Mumbai jointly as the ‘2021 Tree City of the
World.’
 This is the first time Mumbai has made it to the list.
 Hyderabad has been featured on this list for the second consecutive year.
 To be recognized as a ‘Tree City,’ a city needs to meet five core standards that show its
commitment to caring for its forests and trees.

China’s Zero-COVID Policy


 The Zero-Covid policy of China involves the use of aggressive measures and policies that
are necessary to eliminate and control the COVID-19 virus’s local transmission.
Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya
On 14th April 2022, the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya was inaugurated by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
The contribution of India’s prime ministers will be showcased in the Pradhanmantri
Sangrahalaya.The first person to buy a ticket to the museum was PM Modi.
 The museum has been inaugurated on Ambedkar Jayanti.

Telangana Rice Procurement Issues


The government of Telangana has begun procuring paddy from the farmers of the state. The
announcement for procurement was announced by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
A meeting regarding the procurement was held by Gangula Kamalakar, State Civil Supplies
Minister.
The centre refused to purchase the entire stock and refused to buy more than 6 million tonnes.
The farmers of the state started protesting in front of the state government’s procurement
centres to sell the paddy and the related products.
The government of Telangana has also been demanding the central government urging them to
buy 100 per cent of the paddy produced in Telangana.

Loiter ammunitions have a camera that is nose-mounted and it is used by the operator to see the
area of operation and choose the specific targets.

Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved continuation of the revamped
Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) for implementation
during the period from 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2026 .
The scheme is now co-terminus with the 15th Finance Commission period.
The scheme is aimed to develop governance capabilities of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
The scheme was first approved by the Cabinet in 2018 for implementation from 2018-19 to
2021-22.

Colour Blindness
Supreme Court has directed the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) not to exclude
candidates suffering from colour blindness from its courses on film making and editing and
asked it to make changes to its curriculum instead.
Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) was set up by the Government of India in 1960, in
the premises of the erstwhile Prabhat Studios in Pune.
It is an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The Him Prahari scheme is meant for ex-servicemen and youngsters.
