 According to data from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Karnataka has emerged as a leader in the development of India's
electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. According to central government data, Karnataka has 3.31 lakh EVs and 5,059
charging stations.
 Delhi has 2.74 lakh EVs and 1,886 charging stations, Uttar Pradesh has 7.45 lakh EVs with 583 charging stations, Tamil
Nadu has 2.20 lakh EVs and 643 charging stations.
 With 4,281 public charging stations, Bengaluru urban district has the highest number of charging points of any district.
 Uttar Pradesh leads the country with 7.45 lakh electric vehicles (EVs), followed by Maharashtra with 4.15 lakh electric
vehicles, Karnataka has 3.31 lakh EV vehicles in the current scenario.
JICA Signed ODA Loan of JPY Yen 232.209 billion with India for 9 projects across Sectors

Morgan Stanley projects India’s GDP to Grow at 6.9% in FY24 and 6.5% in FY25
Morgan Stanley in its research report titled ‘India Economics – Macro Indicators Chartbook: Strength in Growth, Stability
in Macro-Fundamentals’ projected that India’s gross domestic product (GDP) to grow at 6.9% in Financial Year 2023-24
(FY24) and it will be slowed down to 6.5% in FY25.
Tripura becomes the first north-eastern state to start universal health cover
 Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha launched the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana (CMJAY) at a mega event along with his
cabinet colleagues and Dr. Basant Garg, Additional CEO of the National Health Authority.
 Garg claimed that Tripura is the first northeastern state and became the 12th state in the entire country to launch
universal health insurance coverage for all on the lines of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-
PMJAY) to provide coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family per year.

PayPal Registers With Finance Ministry’s Financial Intelligence Unit- India (FIU- IND) Under Anti-Money Laundering
Law
 The FIU imposed a penalty on PayPal in December 2020, alleging non-cooperation and failure to comply with anti-money
laundering obligations.
 This penalty was initially overturned in July 2023, but the court ruled that PayPal must adhere to reporting obligations
under the PMLA as a payments system operator.
 PayPal must now report large or suspicious transactions to FIU-IND and implement stringent customer verification
procedures.
Govt expands National Livelihood Mission with new subsidy provisions
 The government has now decided to include more activities in the National Livelihood Mission (NLM).
 Under this, state governments will assist in breed conservation efforts of horses, donkeys, mules and camels.
 The central government will earmark Rs.10 crore to establish semen stations and nucleus breeding farms for horses,
donkeys, mules and camels.
 Under this, private companies, startups and various groups can avail 50% capital subsidy up to Rs 50 lakh for setting up
fodder seed processing infrastructure.

IRCTC partners with Swiggy to offer food delivery at these railway stations
 The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has partnered with Swiggy to facilitate the delivery of pre-
ordered meals booked by passengers through IRCTC’s e-catering portal.
 This collaboration aims to enhance convenience and choice for railway travelers. Initially, Swiggy’s services will be

 Renewable power solutions provider CleanMax and Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) have signed a 25-year
long-term power purchase agreement aimed at fostering sustainable energy practices.
 The renewable energy initiative will draw power from a 45.9 MW Solar-wind Captive Power Project established under a
special purpose vehicle named Clean Max BIAL Renewable Energy Private Limited.
 Situated in Jagaluru, Karnataka, the project encompasses a 36 MW solar power plant and a 9.9 MW wind power plant.
Akshayakalpa signs MoU with BII, Samunnati to Finance 1,500 Small Dairy Farmers in Karnataka, TN & Telangana
 Tiptur (Karnataka)-based Akshayakalpa Farms And Foods Pvt. Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding with British
International Investment (BII), and Samunnati Financial Intermediation and Services Private Limited to finance up to
1,500 smallholder dairy farmers in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu(TN) and Telangana.
 This commitment is made through BII’s GBP 200-million Climate Innovation Facility which finances climate-related
projects in developing countries.
