COURSE SYLLABUS : ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING 2, 2ND SEMESTER AY 2021-2022

A. CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION

1. Course Number : AL 2
2. Course Title : Assessment of Learning
3. Course Description : This course covers on the principles, development and utilization
of alternative forms of assessment in measuring authentic learning. It
emphasizes how to assess process and product-oriented learning outcomes
as well as effective learning. Students will experience how develop rubrics
and other assessment tools for performance-based and product-based
assessment.

4. Prerequisite/s: None
5. Course Credit : 3 Units
6. Number of Hours : 3 (1 hour synchronous and 2 hours asynchronous)
7. Course Goal : At the end of the course, the students are expected to acquire the
knowledge and skills in developing assessment tools and rubrics for
performance-based and product-based assessment.

B. COURSE RATIONALE

Wherever you may be, whatever field you chose to practice your profession years from now, writing a report, a narrative, a proposal
or a memo would be part of your job. To be successful with your writing tasks, there is a core set of skills that you need to master which will
be discussed in this course. Communication skills are imperative to be a successful technical writer.

Technical writing is an audience-centered means of communication with main objective of providing your reader or audience with
clear information. There is a relationship between the writer and the reader. The technical writer needs to be effective and efficient in
providing the information. On the other hand, the reader thoroughly understands the information to give a thoughtful feedback or response.
