KEY UNDERSTANDING TO BE DEVELOPED
Information and Communication Technology and the Localization of
the Learning materials is one of the component areas in Basic
Education Curriculum. They need to enhance/upgrade their skills on
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills in making
their self-learning materials for better outcome in the delivery of
instruction during this health crisis situation in our system.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
a. gain functional and operational understanding of localization in the
Basic Education Curriculum;
b. Equip Science teachers with the knowledge and skills in using
applications in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
in teaching the subject as one of the component areas.
c. Improve the ability of science teachers to integrate the MELCs in
teaching and making of SLMs for better learning delivery and
learning outcomes amidst crisis situation.

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITY
The LAC Facilitator leads the discussion on LAC protocols/norms: 3
● Purpose of Leaders’ LAC session minutes
● Objective of the LAC session

ACTIVITY
 The LAC FACILITATOR discuss the topic about the
contextualization and localizing the Basic Education Curriculum 80
 The LAC FACILITATOR demonstrate how to make Learning minutes
materials using Application (Crossword and Word Search)
 The LAC Facilitator Ask to the participants to make their own
Learning materials
 The LAC Speaker demonstrate how to use google forms
 Discuss with the group the ideas you gained from the topic that
being presented.

ANALYSIS
Participants answer the following questions:
1. What is the difference between contextualization and localization? 15
2. How significant are the localized learning materials to be use in minutes
teaching
Abstraction/Generalization
The participants with the facilitator will sum up what was discussed
about the topic by answering the reflection questions. 15

Application
1 Everyone will make their own localized learning materials in
