Rural development: Principles, Policies and Management comprehensively addresses the basic
concepts, elements, paradigms, determinants, policy instruments, strategies, programs, and
management of rural development. This book emphasizes, in particular, the essential role of
human resources as both a means and an end of development. Thus, this book, Rural
Development: Principles, Policies and Management, is seems as a comprehensive textbook on
Rural Development and Planning. From the content of this book I must say that this book is
primarily targeted at graduate and post-graduate students of Rural Development, Agricultural
Policy and Planning and Rural Management. In this book also takes into account training
programmes in Rural Development, Rural Economics, Rural Management, Agricultural Policy
and Planning. All aspect related with rural development has been covered in this book very
nicely.

By reviewing the content of the book, I can clearly see that in the beginning chapter author has
introduced some basic concept of the rural development, rural economy, measures of
development and then he talked about policies, program of rural development; so reader can
get clear stimulate regarding policies. Author has given supportive table or facts to justify most
of the topics. This will be useful for us to understand well.

Which are covered within 15 chapters.
