Hello teacher and everybody. My name is… I’m from group 2.

There are: … Today, my group

would like to talk about our favourite festival. Let’s get started!

As everyone knows, all of countries in the world have lots of interesting festivals. Our
favorite festival is Vietnamese Tet holiday. Tet is the most important festival in Vietnam,
which is expected annually by the Vietnamese everywhere in the world. Tet usually takes
place in late January and early February and lasts from 3 to 4 days.

Every year, my school organizes an activity called “Tet vi ban ngheo”. They encourage
students to donate the poor clothes, books and money. Before New Year’s Eve, my family
plan to clean and decorate the house with peach blossom, kumquat tree, flowers and so on.
My family gather to make banh chung and make offers for the ancestors. My mom let me to
buy new beautiful clothes for Tet.

In New Year’s Eve, our family eat a cozy reunion dinner together. Then we watch “Tao
Quan” happily and finally, at 12 o’clock we watch fireworks on TV because of Covid-19. We
can’t go out to watch at Lam Son square. Then, everyone listens to the President's New
Year's letter.

During Tet, people exchange dearest wishes with each other. Childen receive lucky money
from adults. People put on beautiful new clothes. We eat tradition foods such as: banh
chung, chicken, nem chua, onion pickles and so on. We go back to our hometown to visit
our grandparents and relatives. We also vistit temples and pagodas to pray for health and
wealth.

After Tet, children have to go to school, adults have to go to work, and we have to finish our
homework before going back to school. All of us feel extremely happy at Tet because it’s
time for our family members to gather after a busy year. It's also a chance for us to let our
hair down after a long tiring study. “Tet’’ is always in Vietnamese’s heart. Thanks for
listening. Good bye
