call it a day – end the job (or task) for the day, (or night)
(kết thúc một công việc trong ngày, hoặc trong buổi tối)
==> Well, it was nice chatting with you, but it’s time for me to call it a day.
catch your/my/his eye W – something or someone that has a visual attraction for you, can be a written description as well. Really is
often used to introduce this idiom.
(một thứ gì hoặc một ai đó khiến bạn bị thu hút khi nhìn vào, từ Really thường được dùng kèm với thành ngữ này.)
==>That pretty girl really caught my eye. Do any of these watches catch your eye? The price on that advertised special really caught my
eye.

white elephant - W – an unprofitable investment, something that is large and unwieldy and is a nuisance and/or expensive to
maintain.
(một sự đầu tư không mang lại lời nhuận, một thứ to cồng kềnh và đắt tiền nhưng lại vô ích)
==>That new motorbike I bought is really a white elephant, it is expensive and too big for these streets.
