Learning Strategies used in Reading Lessons for vocabulary

understanding of correct verb tenses in a sentence.

1. After lunch students will divide into three groups that will go counter clockwise around
the room going to three different grammar activities. Station 1 will do the verb tense
worksheet independently. Once done will check their answers with a partner and turn it in
to the teacher with their name on it.
2. Station 2: students will use their iPads and play online verb tense games on “Kid Heros
verb” game. Students will use the following game link;
https://www.roomrecess.com/mobile/KidHeroesVerbs/play.html. During this game
students will read the sentence. If they pick the correct verb, they can place a kid hero on
the battlefield to protect the king from the monster.
3. Station 3: Students will practice present tense verbs by playing a game of charades. Each
student will have one minute to act out the verb and have members in their group guess
the action. Once students guess the verb the group has to use the verb in a sentence. The
following verbs the teacher will give them are; making a bed, playing basketball,
drawing, sleeping, running, hugging a friend, singing, studying, jumping, & making a
snowman.
