You are the Airport Manager of OPMJ airport. Serene Air has asked for permission to operate
their Boeing 737-800 aircraft at your airport.
Using the AIP and/or Google Earth data :

A. Determine the maximum weight allowed for Boeing 737-800 aircraft at OPMJ.

B. Determine if the width of the taxiway at OPMJ is sufficient for Boeing 737-800

operation.

OPMJ Airport:
Moenjo Daro Airport (OPMJ) is a domestic airport located at Mohenjo-daro, Sindh under the administration of
Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.
This airport was initially started in 1967. Its runway and terminal building were extended twice in 1973 and
1996 respectively to raise runway LCN (strength) for operation of B-737. Runway of Airport is 1981m in length
and 30m in width accompanied by 775 FT taxiway and apron sufficient for parking of two Aircraft(s).

A. Determine the maximum weight allowed for Boeing 737-800 aircraft at OPMJ.

Using the given data and charts, the maximum weight allowed for boeing 737-800 at OPMJ is calculated
bellow;

PCN for Runway and Taxiway:

50/F/C/X/T

PCN for Apron:

40/R/C/X/U
ACN of 737-800:
Using the given ACN and PCN, maximum weight allowed at POMJ is given in graph bellow;
The solid black line indicates the maximum weight allowed at the runway and taxiway.
However, the maximum weight allowed at apron shall be less than this because the PCN number for the Apron
at OPMJ is 40. The maximum weight allowed at the Apron is aproximately indicated by the dotted blue line.

Determine if the width of the taxiway at OPMJ is sufficient for Boeing 737-800 operation.

From the AIP chart of OPMJ airport (shown above) we know that the width if taxiway at OPMJ is 15m.
Table 1 shows that the outer main gear wheel span of Boeing 737-800 is 7 metres.

Width of taxiway tables states that if the outer main gear wheel span of the aircraft is between 6 to 9
(excluding 9) the width of taxiway shall be 15 m.

Hence, the above mentioned data indicates that the width of Taxiway of OPMJ is sufficient for the operation of
Boeing 737-800.
