“High school Years that brought me here: Shaping our future”

The educational system is divided into three levels, the primary, the secondary and the tertiary
education. Among this levels, secondary or the high school year was one of the longest year. It took six
(6) years, four (4) years for the junior high school and another two (2) years for the senior high school.
This was also the middle of the two (2) levels that bridge the students from the basic to the advance
knowledge. But why we consider high school as an important part of the career path by the student?

High school year is the level of the educational system that train and helps the student to find
their interest, discover skills and to acquire enough knowledge that they can use in their latter grade. The
high school year is divided into two (2) section year, the junior high school and the senior high school.
The junior high school is the early year of secondary education. It is the year where adaptation of the
students in the new environment and system happens. Junior high school is composing of 4 grades, the
first one is the grade 7 where the adjustment period of the students takes place. This is also the year of
discovery for most of the students that they tend to do new stuff. The grade next to 7 is the 8 th grade.
Compare to the first year on high school, students in this grades are more likely settled or already adopt
the system. This is the level where they are full of energy and excitement since they manage to survive in
their first year. Here, the they begin to be more curious on things both academically and personally. They
begin to risk on some activities that builds their personality. Then after the two tears that considered as
adjustment period, the students now will proceed to the 9 th grade where career path and skill development
takes place. This is the beginning of the career promotion to the student. In this grade, students are
introduced in various professions and skills that they may acquire in the following years. Next to this is
the 10th grade were students will be trained to a more set of skill that will help them decide what specific
skill they are interested. This year also students must know the career path they want to push through
because the next decision after the 10 th will be a crucial one. After the first four (4) years in the junior
high school, students now are going to the higher level of their secondary education which is the senior
high school. For the Senior years, students will have additional two (2) years for their studies. These
additional years will set as a preparation for the students as they will enter the college level after the high
school years. It is very important for this two (2) years that student will adopt and acquire needed stuff so
they will be readily enough to enter the higher or latter year. In this part of high school, enhancement of
the skill that the student acquire in the lower year takes place.
