I was part of the team creating
awareness on the impacts of distracted
driving and how to overcome them.
I participated in the campaign by
issuing flyers to the community
members in colleges and non-college
members.
The project service turned out perfectly
as expected since many people
responded positively to our service.
I would create posters and adverts to be
circulated on all the social media
platforms to ensure that everyone in the
community is aware. Thus, this will help
to increase awareness.
This particular service project has given
me a chance and a whole new meaning
to the true and best participation and the
effort to demonstrate my strengths and
commitment towards serving the
community by saving many lives.
 The fact that this particular service to the
community was so simple and yet so
worthwhile makes the limits of this
service to be endless.

What tips would you give to your peers who
are just starting their service projects?
I would advise them to find a team of
members who have common interests
and objectives and are also willing to
help the community by saving many
lives. Working as a big team leads to a
bigger following and the best outcome
than when a person does it.

Additionally, working with a larger team

takes a short time and helps the team to
cover a larger area within a short period.

Discussion Post:
My service project was campaigning against and creating awareness on the impacts of distracted
driving and how to mitigate the issue affecting the community. I learned that distracted driving is
caused by many factors, including chatting while driving, loud music, talking to a passenger
while driving, emotions, daydreaming, and many others. Distracted driving affects both the
people in the vehicle and those outside the vehicle. For instance, in an accident, it can lead to the
loss of lives both in the vehicle and the pedestrians or passengers in other vehicles involved in
the accident. Therefore, it is vital for the community, especially those driving to be more careful
and make sure that they stay alert while driving to minimize this particular issue. They are not
supposed to play loud music, talk to the passengers, chat, eat or drink while driving.
To help this service project grow and continue existing, I will keep on creating awareness on
how important it is to stay alert while driving to ensure that they are not distracted while driving.
Also, I will educate the public on the impacts of distracted driving and how to mitigate the issue
most effectively. In the future, I will create posters and adverts to circulate through all social
media platforms concerning the issue to ensure that people's lives will not be at any risk
anymore.
