Moral Dilemma/Doctrine of Double Effect:

Elections are the means by which citizens can express their political views. They express their
views by voting for a political leader in a public election. Furthermore, this political figure would
be in a position of power and responsibility. Nowadays, lot of people are doing their best to
represent their chosen presidential candidacy to lead our country since the election day is fast
approaching. The question of who may vote is certainly an important issue.

Voting is our birthright, what makes it even more valuable is that our ancestors fought for it
so we can freely make our own choices for this country. This obligation has been entrusted to
me as a young citizen. That is why we must make use of it and do it intelligently because our
vote determines the country’s development.

As a student and a citizen of my county, if I were to choose between a two candidates that
will take the lead of our country I will choose the one that is a charismatic candidate who knows
the laws and foreign policy but with few cases that are left to be resolved by the court. It may
seem odd to pick a candidate that has a background issue and kind of a big deal to some
people but it is more acceptable to lead the country than those people who are ignorant of the
laws and foreign policy because a leader should lead a country with a great mind and have
knowledge of what he/she is doing in order to sustain and obtain the needs of his/her beloved
country. It might be unusual to hear a leader who has few cases but that could be resolve in
other situation privately and of course it is his/her responsibility to face the consequences of
what he/she has done but most importantly he/she must not forget the responsibility as the
leader of a democratic country.

Thus, being a citizen of a democratic country it is not only our right but also our
responsibility to elect the right set of candidates to guide our country in good development. It is
our duty to vote wisely because casting a vote is one way to communicate our grievances about
the system.
