Title of the project:- TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Introduction:

Transport management system project is developed to automate transport operation like

payment, booking order, delivery report, generating transactions receipt etc. in a transport
office. Using this system user can computerize transport office work like billing, tracking
payments, creating report etc. The main job of the transporter is to provide transport service
to consigner and consignee.

Transportation management system is a software application to maintain day to day

transactions in transport office. Using this system user can manage transport work. He can
select vehicle to transport the goods. He can also track the vehicle delivery of goods.
Customer can also book good transport order online. User can also check his goods delivery
status online.

Objectives:

The main objective of this application is to automate the complete operations of the
goods transporter office. In current system all work is getting done manually. User have to
manage many things so it is very difficult to manage this business doing work manually.
Using this system user can automate many transport operation like billing, tracking
payments, creating report etc.

Using this system keeping records of transportation is easy. User can find any old
records in few clicks. User can also generate old delivery reports and other report easily.
They need maintain hundreds of thousands of records. Also searching should be very faster
so they can find required details instantly.

Existing System:
In existing system all work is done manually. In this system it is very difficult to find
old records. Since all work is done manually, it takes time to give report to management
regarding their query. To book an order user have to come transportation office. User can
also not able to check his goods delivery status. All work is done on paper so it is error prone
system. Sometime it is very difficult to manage all transport delivery. So an automated
system is needed to computerize all these activity.
Proposed System :
Proposed system will automate all the work done manually in existing transport system. It
will store all the records of goods delivery. Using this system user can online check rates of
transportation and routes to the destination. Here user can check everything online and can
book his order to transport his goods. User can also manage billing operation of
transportation. Admin can also check which truck is available for transportation and how
long it takes to reach the delivery point. This system provide the basic components of a
shared information system to support the collaboration, vehicle provides, driver provides ,
rates, routes, roles, transaction sets, documents, and information exchanged to facilitate the
booking, execution, and settlement of any type of transportation movement.
Limitations of Existing system :
1. Inability to utilize vehicles’ capacity
2. Inefficient route management
3. Inability to track consignments
4. Increased transportation cost
5. Inability to deliver orders on time

PROBLEMS IN EXISTING SYSTEM:-

Compared to this existing system, in the present system all the features are performed either
manually or with the help of word processor. While providing transport services to its
customers, the present computer service centres generally keep the details of the paper
register, and the management of all records is hard some extent.
There are problems relating redundancy of data like driver name and address, details of
their account and also allocation of duties to the driver When a customer takes some kind of
services, the charge is calculated manually, and this process is time consuming. Also,
regular and overtime duties are not maintained properly. This leads to improper calculation
of employee’s payroll and calculation becomes quite complicated for every employee.
Another problem usually faced by the organization which has been solved in the proposed 
transport management system Project is the frequent complaints by the customers for not
getting timely services. This is due to the improper working schedule of employees and the
method for keeping the records.
Here, the owner has to keep a watch on everything of their transport center at all times. In
this case, it is nearly impossible to get the details and records of the status of services when
required. All this makes the owner the key person to handle the whole working system, and
henceforth the workload is not shared by equally amongst the people running the transport
system

Implementation Methodology:-
 Login & Registration :
This phase involves login & registration for both the guest and Agent. Ther user’s details are
maintained confidential by maintaining separate account for each user. At the same time
only, the Admin can view the details of the registered User.
●. User Module: In this module User can Book a vehicle ,and check a vehicle and Driver
listing ,All information About Driver and Vehicle, and check Schedule of Route. User can
check the bill in there account own account on transpotation management system websites.
●Administrator Module:
This module gives manager related usefulness. Executive can include, erase, refresh and see
subtle elements of vehicles, routes. The chairman keeps up the points of interest of workers
who profit the transportation benefit.
●Vehicle Module:
The executive comprises the vehicle module. This module keeps up the points of interest of
vehicles and taxis accessible for transportation. For every vehicle subtle elements, for
example, Brand name of vehicle, Vehicle Color, Vehicle Registertion No, Chesis No,
Vehicle Registration Date , Description , vehicle type, capacity, availability will be put
away. A manager can deal with the vehicle data.
●Route Module:
The overseer comprises the course module. This module keeps up the subtle elements of all
courses accessible for transportation. For each course subtle elements, for example, course
number, stopping points, pickup time for each stop focuses will be put away. Manager can
deal with the course data

REPORTS:-
This report gives the overview of the transport from a starting of the trip and to the end of the
trip. It shows the overall transport amount the transportation company got for a trip and the
expenses incurred on the trip to calculate income for a particular transport trip.
Conclusion:
The Transport Management System is an application that the admin launch the
bill ,time and for the make updation for ,time and Then the user come and View the route
details and make a request for bill and also make update to request. After that the user give
request for bill the administrator the for the user request.Then the user get information about
.The user can give complaint about service and the administrator take action for the user
complaint. The administrator get the user’s feedback
