This SOP is applicable to all colleagues, especially Butlers, when handling


guest requests for Religious Material to ensure that they are handled in a way
appropriate and with respect to the religion of the guests.

 Religious Materials are available as on-call items from the Butler available as on-call items

 All Butlers are aware of the specific methods and commonly-  Quran

Storage of religious material:

 All religious material is stored at the Butler Office.


 All religious material must not be stored in a location where alcohol
is present.
 Religious material from different religions must be stored separately
with clear demarcation between them, preferably in different boxes.

Handling requests for religious material:

 Any requests for religious material must be channeled to the Butlers,


who will in turn request from the Butler Office.
 Traces would be left for the retrieving of all outgoing religious
material.
 All religious material must be handled only by Respect at all times,
according to commonly-accepted practices required by the religion.
 Religious material must be delivered using a hotel bag in order to
ensure that they are being handled with care and respect.
 Additional care and respect for religious material include:
o Religious material from different religions must never be mixed or
placed together.
o They must not be dropped or placed on the floor or in a place with
dirt, mess or refuse.
o They must be handled directly and personally to the guests. If this is
not possible, they must be placed on the table (in the room), ensuring
that the table is clean, neat and without

o Upon guest check-out, the religious material is to be


returned to the Butler office, again using a hotel bag with
care and respect. Butler Order taker would resolve traces
after the return of religious material
