CHAPTER-I

INTRODUCTION

1.1 INTRODUCTION OF THE STUDY

The institutional training program provides opportunities for exposure


to the working world, which will make graduates more aware of the hopes and
expectations that industry has of them. Institutional Training is the knowledge
and skills in a specific profession of their respective fields. Institutional training
is opportunities in the workplace to receive practical experience in order to
improve. Overall, institutional training gives many advantages and benefits.
Aim of this training is to learn and develop the management skills among the
students. Since they lack in the practical knowledge this training helped to know
about the functions of various department. It enables student to take quick and
right decisions in the administrations.

Graduates must have current relevant knowledge, practical experience, soft


skills and a positive attitude to allow them to be competitive in the job market.
They must possess the necessary knowledge and skills before they go out into
the working world.

1.2 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

INTRODUCTION OF THE COMPANY

2.1 INTRODUCTION

Ponmani industries are pioneer manufacturers of wet grinders since


1985.they are manufacturing domestic & commercial wet grinders. Our range of
products are 1 litre-40 liters capacity.

They are proud winners of 2006 national award from the government of
India issued by Mr. Mahaveer Prasad. Further, they have won an enviable
position in the global competitive market by offering innovative grinders
adhering to strict delivery schedule.

Quality control has always been of vital importance to our company and
our advanced quality control teams undertake every measure in production. their
vigilant quality controllers ensure that quality proven raw materials is procured
from established vendors. They conduct random surveys during various
production stages.

Company achieve the following

They undertake every measure to deliver high performance grinders and


motors to reduce the grinding time and increasing the life cycle of our product
and get the maximum market share in the market.

products". They work with the mission to make the arduous process of cooking
and catering, quick and easy. They are continuously striving to improve product
design and reduce the cost of the products. Our main motto is “No dissatisfied
Customer and Dealer” ever. They intend to offer efficient machines that are
easy to handle and consumes less power and valuable time of house wives.

2.4 PRODUCT PROFILE

2.4.1INTRODUCTION

PONMANI industries are specialized in manufacturing


GRINDER. The entire production facility is segregated into distinct cells each
catering to a specific product rage.

2.4.2 Manufacturing of grinder

It contains all the motor tool inside the grinder is produced


there by themselves by their own. They had a lot of departments and each
department has a separate work assign the worker a different type of work to
different type of people according to their needs and capabilities. Their needs
should be known and they had different type of job.

The above picture shows that the area of production where the
drum is produced and fixed. This section is known as drum and design section.

It has other type of department functions like

➢ Manufacturing
➢ Production
➢ Sales
➢ Drum and design etc.,

3.1 Functions of various departments

3.1.1 Production department:

INTRODUCTION:

To produce a product the company needs a production department


separately and that they have produces a lot of production process.

Details of the company:

It is the company which produces and manufactures of grinder which


plays a vital role in production department. The production is based on the
motor which they produce by themselves is used as a coil motor

This is the coil which was used to cover the motor to hold grinder to
know the working capacity of the grinder and this plays a vital role in the
production

After inserting the coil the motor will look like the following picture

It has more than 3 types of motor which has been conducted inside the
grinder that are 1000 ohm, 1400 ohm, 1300 ohm in this if they put 1300 ohm
the grinder will lead a long life.

This is used to be fit inside the grinder and with the help of this motor
only they can able to use that grinder. After the end of that the motor has to be
covered with a coil paper as that only it can able to be strong and there will not
be any problem in the rod.

Inside the rod is used because the motor has to been in of long life and
should use for more than 5years.

3.2 SALES DEPARTMENT

3.2.1 Introduction:

Ponmani industries are doing more production of grinders. They satisfy


more than 2,000,000 customers. There are lots and lots of customers are
satisfied with this product because of their reputation of customer. Sale are
being very high because the quality of their products. They think that the
product is good in quality, price, market demand these are the reasons to by this
product.

Details of sales department:

Sales are becoming high because the manufacture is a seller tells the
quality of the product clearly by their needs and satisfaction.

They sale their product in different type of places and there is a separate
department for marketing their products. The products are marketed in the
places such as Chennai, Madurai, kovai, etc., they market their products in a
good and a well-defined manner. The following is the sampleInvoice billof the
company.

Like this there is a separate department for separate kind of activities.
Sales are more than the purchase of goods. The raw materials which is used for
the company is only purchased outside.

They didn’t use to sale grinder but also they use to sell cookers,
induction stove etc. They use sell this products and use to import the induction
stove and they use to sell that product.

The sales play a vital role in profit of the company. This company may be
earned lot of profit because they use get more in this type of selling and
marketing of products.

The companies owner had own the NATIONAL AWARD for wet
grinder because of the quality.

3.3 MANUFACTURING DEPARTMENT

3.3.1 Introduction:

The manufacture their own products by getting some of the raw materials
outside of the company. They use to manufacture the product by and within
themselves.

3.3.2 Details of the department:

The products of manufacturing are in there in their company itself


because they use to manufacture their products. The manufactured products will
be use to sale through the various areas of different companies. The
manufactured products are done in their company itself and the manufacturing
products are done by using the raw material which is bought out from different
places.

They not only use to manufacture the product of grinder but also produce
the products of Cooker, Induction stove and they also produce cooker by their
own but they use to import Induction stove from abroad and that is to be sale in
the name of Ponmani Industries.

3.4 DRUM AND DESIGN DEPARTMENT

3.4.1 Introduction:

The drum sections are designed towards the following selection of


the company product like grinder.

3.4.2 DETAILS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

The drums are designed according to their size of the motor. The
motor may be in different type and that is designed according to the size of the
grinder liters and that may in different type.

This is also a type of a think which is used inside the grinder


which is a very important item which is conducted inside the grinder. The
another product which is designed using the following drum like

3.5 ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT

3.5.1 Introduction:

Accounts department helps to learn about GST which is a main strategy


in accounting field and also helps to learn some details which haven’t know
before and that has been implemented in a day today life.

3.5.2 Details of the department:

GST has been introduced in India at 1st July 2017 and that has been
introduced by Honorable Prime Minister NARENDAR MODI. GST is a
Goods and Services tax which is known as an Indirect tax which is payable to
state and central government.

GST has 4 main types that are as follows

➢ CGST
➢ SGST
➢ IGST
➢ UTGST

CGST and SGST should be used inside the local area to the company
because they had to pay a tax to the Government in 12 percentage, (i.e.)6
percentage on central government and 6 percentage on state government. IGST
is the companies are used to transfer goods from foreign country like that
purpose them use to use this IGST. In this case they had to pay 18 percentage of
tax(i.e.) 9 percentage on central and 9 percentage on state government.

UTGST is nothing but to transfer goods to united terminal goods. In this


they have to pay 28 percentage of tax to the government. The tax rate has a
percentage according to the following

0 percentage, 5 percentage,12 percentage,18 percentage,28 percentage.
Now a day they implemented online and all the companies have been having the
online taxation of goods. They have to file taxation and that should all be
contained in systemized format.

GST has been introduced in all the companies and they should be paid to
the company regularly. the company cannot make a cheating in a day to day
transaction. And this is not implemented to pay to the state and central
government.

4.1CONCLUSION

The training which I have undergone in PONMANI INDUSTRIES has


given me partical knowledge about the functioning of the organisation and has
helped me to undergo study on each department activity.

Training in this Industries shows light on the practical aspects of the


manufacturing sector and enables to have primary information relating to the
functioning of the company.
