Cosmetology Portfolio

Importance
It is important for cosmetologists to have portfolios. This is our way to show our work to our clients and
provide them with our skills. This is a way for them to see our style, prices, and skills. It is our goal to
give our clients exactly what they are looking for because they often come in with high expectations. It is
a way to show whether we would be a match for them and their style so we can grasp the exact style
they want.

It also shows our services and what we can do for them. It would be very unfortunate if they were to
schedule an appointment for something that we didn’t offer. Having a portfolio is our way to show off
and advertise our skills and hopefully attract clients, so it is also very important to stay up to date with
the styles.

Pricing
It is important to remember that when we are pricing out our services for our clients to remember that
this is how we make a living. We have to be able to pay for our own living, supplies for the job, our
education, and rent for the building that the salon is in.

Haircuts

Although a haircut seems simple, there is a lot that goes into it. There are many different styles of
haircuts, and it is your job to give the client what they want. It takes time and you have to be very detail
orientated to give a good one. You have to make sure ends are even, you get rid of dead and damaged
hair, and that you do not miss anything.

Styling

Depending on the level of difficulty of hairstyle, the price can vary; the more difficult the style, the more
it is going to cost and vice versa. There is a lot of training that went into our profession, so we want to
ensure the greatest satisfaction for our clients. We also take our time and don’t rush to make sure the
style holds and lasts however long it is needed whether we are styling you hair, makeup, or nails.
