Advance Auto Parts Foundation Future Technicians Nomination

I want to make you aware of an exciting new scholarship opportunity for graduating
high school seniors interested in becoming an automotive or collision repair
technician!

Thanks to a gift from the Advance Auto Parts Foundation, we are offering scholarships to
five students to attend Wake Tech beginning fall of 2022. The Advance Auto Parts
Foundation Future Technicians program aims to attract and retain women and other
underrepresented student groups to the automotive industry.

The scholarships are valued at $2,500 a year, renewable for up to two years, and
include a one-time tool stipend of $600. Students will train in the brand-new Hendrick
Center for Automotive Excellence on Wake Tech’s Scott Northern Wake Campus.

I’m asking you today to please nominate any student who would like to enroll in Wake
Tech’s Automotive Systems Technology or Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology
degree program next fall. Preference will be given to students traditionally
underrepresented in the automotive industry, particularly women and students of color.
You may nominate several students!

Your nomination should include:

1. Student’s name, address, Date of Birth, phone number, and high school

2. Program of interest (Automotive Systems or Collision Repair)

3. A brief paragraph explaining why this student would be a good match for this
opportunity

Please email your nominations to advance@waketech.edu by April 15.

To be selected, students must complete a Wake Tech online admissions application – so

please ask them to do so as soon as possible! Please let me know if I can be of assistance
with their application. A selection panel will review all nominations and scholarship
recipients will be notified by May 1.
